Re: Any other cars besides your third gen?
the 60 chevy race car has a corvette 427 big block with a Mickey Thompson cross ram and a Muncie 4-speed. I put 3.08 gears in the rear to street drive it. but have the race ready center with the 4.88 gears in the trunk of my 55. When helping my dad move years ago i found in the garage his original tool box he kept in the trunk. Full of old racing decals. So its back in the trunk. Yeah wish i could get the car back from my brother.
My dad in the cool down area at the original Irwindale drag strip thats now Miller brewery. If you google it the area the track was is still there. My dad had a box of trophies from this car. I kept the one from the day of this photo. Its on my shelf.

I go back and forth on whether or not I'll ever consider a 6th gen Camaro. Pics like that make me want one.

Re: Any other cars besides your third gen?
Oh man. 15-20 years ago when this website was still fledgling, my thirdgen was my only passion. Daily drove it, used it as a truck, used it to travel, used it in snow, everything. Nowadays I either have more money or less brains because my automotive addiction has spread to quite a few different cars.
'84 LS swapped bmw 325
'91 bmw 325 converted into a truck on all terrain tires
'84 bmw 318 with a volvo 5 cyl turbo motor and mustang t5 trans. Still need to wire this one up.
'01 audi s4 wagon. 6 speed swapped, big turbos but thinking about a weird engine swap for this.
'03 Jaguar S-type R. Supercharged, manual swapped. I have one of those caddy STSv superchargers I'm thinking about adapting...
'97 F350 diesel 4x4. Manual swapped on 35s. Intercooler sitting around ready to install on this.
'70 c50. 350/4speed. I'm thinking about dropping one of my spare LS motors in this but I want to retain the trans mounted parking brake and that will prove to be difficult with a t56. I think I can manage using c5 tail housing though.
I need more time in the day to work on my own stuff!

Working on an old 1961 Studebaker Lark VII hardtop. Will be a cool car when complete.

259. My Studebaker knowledge is fairly limited. We had a few in the family when I was very young. I didn't know there WAS a 259. Cool project!

I used to have this little gem. Small car+V8= tons of fun. Although every time I drove the Vega, I felt like it was trying to kill me...

Some of my former Rides and Projects
1968 Datsun 521 (got it my senior year of high school, owned it till a couple years ago)
1981 Datsun 210 (I had this car when in college, my brother wrecked it around 2000)
The next couple photos are from 1999/2000, This was my first 1984 TransAm
This was my 2004 Daytona 600 track bike. I built it from a literal pile of parts. It was built back into street trim and sold in 2012 after my bad motorcycle wreck.
Here are a couple of photos of my 1995 z28 convertible. This car basically got me back into dreaming about fbody cars again.
This is the s10 I had back in 2002. I was into s-series trucks for awhile. I loved this truck.

That V8 in the Vega is a neat setup. Motor looks like it belongs in there. Those cars were really small and that engine looks really potent! One of my dream cars back in the "not so long ago."

Re: Any other cars besides your third gen?
Since I sold the GTA Notchback in 2015 to clear up garage space, there has only been one other car added to the Rider household. My wife still drives her 2007 Pontiac Vibe, and we added a 2016 Kia Soul + for our daughter. Then in 2020, I sold my '01 Ram 2500, and stepped down to a 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie 4x4 with the 3.0L EcoDiesel engine.

Re: Any other cars besides your third gen?
Obviously we all love our third gens and I know a lot of people on the forum have multiple third gens...but I was wondering if you have any other cars you have a passion for? My dad was a car guy so I was going to car shows at an early age. He has always been into the 58-64 x-frame cars so I've had a soft spot for those as well. Just wondering what other members might enjoy?
84 Z28
72 Z28
99' S10-Xtrem
01 Z28
06 SS/SC Cobalt
78 Z28
87 IROC
19 SS Camaro
21 GMC canyon
My interests are pretty clear. I do wanna turn my Canyon into a race truck once I run it into the ground
My bucket list consists of
Porsche (Turbo S)
63 Chevy II (Nova) 4 door with 3 speed on colum
66 G.T.O
70-73 Z28 (again)
35th Anniversary WS6 Trans Am
I'm now 42 and financially better off where my bucket list is just a matter of time

Re: Any other cars besides your third gen?
This is a dangerous topic because you see so many cool projects!
I’ve been very lucky and working with my dad over the past 30 years we have built a pretty sizable collection.
third gens include: 86 Iroc, 87 Formula 350, 89 TTA 20th Anniversary, 91 Trans Am convertible
Here’s a few pics
We actually just bought this 2020 Hellcat Daytona
My 95 6 speed Hawk with dads 89 TTA
My General Lee and my wife’s Bandit TA
Very nice one owner Iroc
We recently sold the red Hellcat but you can see a few of the other cars
This restomod is finally going to be done this weekend! After 9 years!
Original paint 60 Pontiac Safari
This is the front of my shop

Re: Any other cars besides your third gen?
Thanks guys, honestly it’s always a question of how it will be received. We just never sold any of them and always bought when the market bottomed out. Trailer park cars were our specialty! Remember there was a time where people wouldn’t be caught dead in a 3rd gen, 5.0 and especially a TA with a giant bird on the hood!

Yeah you got some good deals. I've never noticed a late model gto with a shaker hood scoop before. Was that a factory option or an aftermarket upgrade?

my wife was not happy when I cut into her brand new car…..
funny story- someone stole the pic and used it to sell an extra shaker set up for the 1/25 scale model on eBay. It also made it into car craft magazine in 2005. It’s now at my dads place with 45,000 miles on it.

Re: Any other cars besides your third gen?
we bought that 04 GTO new just couldn’t stand that it didn’t have a scoop- even a fake one. So after about 18 coors lights and having some shaker scoops hanging on the wall I got to measuring- Then on to cutting!
