sorry i have no better pics yet. The gallaxy blue pearl in the paint really pops in the sunlight. The ram air hood was a pita, alot of work with the long board to get it straight. one of these days ill final buff and get some good sunny shots.
It does look good. When I was a kid in the late 80's my Mom's friend bought a brand new T/A that was med metallic blue w/ silver GFX. She used to take us riding in it with the t-tops off. As a ten year old kid I was in hog heaven . When I see that color it reminds me of the good ole days.
Hey, i was flipping through here and saw the one w/ the metalic pepper gray (aka, the elanor base coat w/o stripes) was amazing looking...
Atm, ive got a pretty lifeless flat gray thats weather beaten, flaked, chiped, whole nine yards, and i would love to do it to that color...
But, cant seem to find that paint anywhere on the web...been looking for about the past three hours lol, so if anyone could help me out and link me up to it, via PM preferably that way i dont miss it by chance, the DuPont code is 44490
And this would be my first repaint, any tips would be helpful...my brother has a pretty high-end spray gun and hes done a few, but any little bit helps thx
I want to have my 92 RS repainted because the paint is just plain old and faded. I want to have it redone in the original Purple Haze I got it in. Anyone know what the color code on that is and about how much it might cost me to have it done? Thanks!
I should have mine out of the shop by the end of the week. Gonna be black with silver ground effects and red heritage stripes. I'll be sure to post pics when i get it out.
The IROC is finally out of the shop. 87 IROC-Z. I love the way it looks i looked like a little kid on christmas when i laid eyes on her. The pictures don't do it justice. too much glare in the last pic but also it was from a camera phone so they're not as good as if i had my big camera (which i did not at the time)
Here's mine not the color i wanted or though i was getting, but it's not the final paint job. i needed to get some color on it. cheapest deal from maaco.
not quite sure what the color or rpo is. but somehow they got it mixed up. with the blue of the original color i wanted when i droppd it off.
anybody have any pictures of retro themed camaros? I want to get the big block hood(corvette style), paint the car GM marina blue with the scoop white. White houndstooth interior and rallye wheels big a littles. What do you think?

84 TA with 86 front clip, ground effects, and rear bumper. 4 coats of candy blue with the TA bird on the hood and the 84 black ground effects with 6 coats for that ghost look. Then 4 coats of clear. Mirror finish.
My Uncle did this in his shop. It's actually Honda nighthawk black with purple and blue metal flake, and candy blue metallic ghost flames. Not sure about who makes the candy blue. I'll have to ask my Uncle. Base and 3 clear coats. She really sparkles. I'll try to get a picture in the sun.
Hello everyone! I'm new here...just bought an 87 iroc-z with a 350 few weeks ago. Can ya'll let me know what you think? Its deffinatly a unique look...i've gotten no feedback on it yet so that'd be fantastic!
GM Artic White- Original Paint Job from Van Nuys. Holding up excellent after 14 years and 48k miles.
One day i would like to buy another 3rd gen and make it custom (whereas my camaro is a stock and will stay very close to stock) and i would love do some of the blues you guys have used, a candy apple red, or like a SOM. Awesome colors.
Does any one have a pic of their car from the front with these stripes on one i want to do something like this on my 88 rs and have no clue how to lay the stripes out

Peek under the carpet or look in the engine bay. Even with color changes, are those areas repainted.
That, or they were wrong and the car was originally blue.
well idk what paint im gonna paint it but i was thinking about og green, or british green, or even black, hot rod black. im still not sure yet so help me out people!
Any one got a color of a really dark dark blue, almost black, I'm stuck between a dark dark grey and a dark dark blue. can't seem to make up my mind...
lime green but looks yellow at times. painted it myself and did about 3 months of prep work on her. love the way it turned out 3 coats of base and 3 coats of clear. watcha think? will get better pics these are not great quality.

I love your car,
best camaro i've seen on this site.
i think my computer screen is messed up, because you paint looks like a bright neon light actually lit up........that is one bright paint job. good luck hiding or blending in with anything.

well, mine is
the original color that came in 91 on the car.
WA-9540
but repainted ( original paint faded out a little )
the striping is the original silver heritage stripe color
the black eyes are some glossy black.
Here is a slideshow of my old Camaro that I got painted with GM Red Jewel Tintcoat. You have to click the image below and then click "Camaro Finally Finished!" in the new window, to view all the images in the slideshow. It is an 06 and up color, I believe, and I saw it on an 06 Envoy and loved it.
Dear all! Thank you so much for all these nice words and comments you made!
I will give some details to the pictures,
following your questions and will get in touch with you,
discussing such a fun as photography!
Yours
Ok im kinda having a delama on what color to paint my 87 trans am. I love the look of the black ones but my car came stock red with maroon interior. I just dont know how good the black will look with the maroon interior. but after looking on here Candy apple red sure looks good on that camaro so I was thinking on going with that shade of red. Then everything mite match a little better. and I would have to worry about the jams and so on so much. any thoughts?
I'm almost in the same situation, my '87 TA was originally the maroon/burgandy color (color code doesn't seem to translate to anything available now) with red interior. I'm not that worried about matching the interior since I a pretty decent gray one also.
I'm pretty anal retentive so if I did a color change I'd have to do it right and do the jambs..., and I'd rather not put all the work in, so I've been looking for a color close to the original. That also got me looking at candies, but being that the car will see track time, I don't know that I want to paint it anything difficult to fix/match, of course there's the corvette color, but that's expensive paint....
I've also considered actually doing a color change, and as you say they look good in black, but I hate taking care of a black car, and it's a pain without air conditioning. I've also considered some sort of gray/silver or blue (something like the viper blue or maybe something a little darker like 2nd gen nocturne blue, or the newer vette blue), but... ARRGG...
The more I think about it the worse it gets I think.
i do love those reds. this is a dark candy apple red, this car rolled off the showroom floor and into the paint booth back in the 80's. its looks like a metal flake bright orange at night, i love it. still need a good night photo
