Can you retain the stock belts with racing seats?

I want a set of racing seats because I think they are alot more comfortable than the third or fourthgen seats. I want to know if you can keep the stock belts though because of the way they go through the rung on the side of the seat.

The reason I want these is I like seats that wrap around you it really just feels right to me and i'm confortable that way. In hard turns as well I can throw myself right out of the seat. I'm just glad I didn't pay for my 4th gen seats, someone threw a perfect set of power seats and doorpanels in the dumpster behind work.

In an accident will they hold up just as well as factory seats? I don't feel like having the seat itself fly off the rail, that wouldn't be a fun experiance.

They should work with stock seatbelts. Just that you'll maybe have to fab up your own seatbelt guides. If you're getting a harness just know that you can't just have a harness without a roll bar.

You could always get the RCI Street belts. They dont need a roll bad, and they fit in all cars. They are in teh Summit Racing website in Safety equipment/Seat Belts. Im thinkin about gettin them for my Z28.

I know I cannot have a harness without the roll bar and the car is my primary one so I don't want to put a cage in it. Using the belts without the guides the belt would come right across your neck and probably wind up killing you in a 5mph crash. So my real question was has anyone rigged up the guides and if so how? You need somthing in the side of the seat to screw into which I don't think racing seats would have. Is their a metal frame inside the seats that maybie I could weld a plate to? Actually if their is a frame it is probably aluminum which means I cannot weld it.

Oh well, maybie I just have to keep looking for an insurance company that will insure my 91 as a collectors vehicle so I can get somthing else. Then I get put in a cage and a harness, although I think I still have to wear the factory seat belt or I can get a ticket.
