Who Wants Fiberglass Fenders, hoods and bumpers?
I need to know exactly HOW MANY people on this board actual WANT and DEFINATELY WOULD buy Fiberglass fenders, hoods, and front 1 piece bumpers in ultralight, and regular thickness weights. PLEASE, everyone interested take a second to post up WHAT you'd want, specifie the weight, ultralight or regular, and what car and year its for. I'm thinking about prices right now, but am leaning toward $300 for a full fender set (might have flared versions to for $20 extra), $250 for basic hood $300 for scooped, large cowl, ram air etc. and $350 for the one piece front bumpers, higher clearence (1") will be available after I get well into this, and other modified versions as well. Please people, post asap, If I get enough responses, I WIL go into production. So if you want this to happen, and really want these custom parts, spread this post around!!!!! Make it HUGE. waiting for your replies. -Colt Cobra

I want a very durable high grade front bumper and spoiler (one piece together if possible) that would be a bolt-on replacement for the factory urethane. Fiberglass is easier to repair than uretahne as things wear from scraping. Not necessarily interested in a weight savings over the factory pieces, just something a little stronger and a blended smooth roadrace look to it. no frills. Needs to hve all provisions though for the headlights and blinkers, etc.
I would pay even $400 for a better quality rather than $300 for a cheaper quality. I do not like things that don't fit percisely. Quality sales.

Can the fenders be made without the trans am vents behind the rear wheels (GTA style)? Its easier for people who want to add them to cut a hole; than for people to fill in a hole.
But I am interested.
So lets say $1000. for basic hood, fenders and bumper.regular weight 89 GTA
what about location for pick up or ship only?

If your in the seattle vacinity, you could pick up locally, but other than that most everything can be shipped pretty reasonably. Those of you ordering hoods would be shipped freight, but would be pretty inexpensive do to not being all that heavy. -Colt

id be very interested if you had bolt on (not pin on) 4" cowl for $300, thats a good price. im talking about a cowl that follows the nose line up and then plateau's the rest of the way, not a solid slant till the rear of the hood.

91-92 bird front clip f/g would be nice, as long as it is a direct-bolt.
Making fairly inexpensive ground effects would be a nice touch. You maybe you could make the side ones as one piece, instead of 3
I've also seen in the past, where someone did a custom front end on these. It was verrrry r*cey, but looked like it might have had some benefits of increased airflow to the radiator.
I wish I could find where the thing was. It was an orange t/a, with this wicked looking a/m front clip.
If i find it, I'll post a pic/link

How about a cowl hood for the Firebird that resembles the IMSA hood from the early to mid eighties? Looks like the power bulge but is mirrored on the passenger side. Or maybe a cowl hood that followed the body lines in the hood instead of copying the old Z28. Both need to be about 3" at rear of the hood and flow all the way to the cowl area. Both in regular weight.

I would DEFINETLY buy some regular weighted fenders. Espescially if the antenna were pre-shaven for us.
I'd also be interested in a bolt in (not pin on) SS or Big Block Hood (I still havent decided which one will go with the look of my car)

Iroc hood and blisters. A slightly flared fender would be nice for big brakes and wide wheels. I need my chin spoiler and bumber to be urethane for flexibilty.
What about the mythical reverse cowl hood from Japan?

I definitely want a good quality front bumper facia for a '91 Camaro. I've been looking all over for one and nobody makes them. Doesn't have to be lightweight. I just need something that won't collapse at high speed.

Would love a front and rear bumber for an 84 Trans AM. Would also be interested in a bolt on Ram Air I hood and a Power Bulge hood! But top quality is a must and I am positive that most people here would pay a little more for that extra quality!

By the way guys, I'm also looking forward to getting into carbon fiber. thats the holy grail of body fabrication for anyone who does glass. I dont know what the demand would be for such items, or who would by them, but it's worth mentioning. -Colt Cobra

I'm interested in light-weight replacement fenders in ether fiberglass or carbon-fiber. I'm already looking at a stock flat carbon-fiber hood for next year, but the nose has to stay plastic, I have a tendency to hit cones now and then when autocrossing.

These are what I would personally love to see out of fiberglass or CF.
1. TA style fenders (has the vent towards the rear) without antenna hole
2. 91/92 TA style front and rear fascias (bumper covers) and ground effects.

I would definately go for some reproduction 91-92 front gfx. They wouldn't have to be lighter just not so prone to cracking and not cost a fortune.

A fiberglass nose with the 91-92 chin spoiler moulded into it, so it would be one piece.

outta glass? sheesh, now I've heard it all. What you use for that is extra stiff cardboard, and then lay your foam, (I cut flame patterns into mine) and then your fabric over that. But I suppose if you wanted to have a "nothing but fiberglass" smooth looking headliner made, it's possible. But I dont recommend putting fabric over it. -Colt Cobra

Well, I'm looking for more than just bumpers, fenders and hood for my '89 Formula. I'd like to get ahold of some glass doors too. I wanted to just go with a whole fiberglass door slammer body in a 91-92 Formy, but I can't find one anywhere. And it's hard to find a 91-92 front clip and hood.

how it's probably gonna work,. is like this, I'm gonna produce 1, maybe 2 hoods or fender sets to begin with, and let you guys know that they are available, those will go, and at the same time, others will be popped from the molds. At the same time, more clone-molds will be made, as well as new ones, and I will expand the business and number of pieces produced over time. So, to begin with, I'm probably going to do a hood, for ease of convenience, but am not quite sure as to which one to do first. I was thinking about starting off with a power bulge, that will be able to sustain the FACTORY hinges, and latching mechanism. Yes, some metal fabrication will be needed, but wont be too bad. The first one will probably go for around $350 plus shipping. (based on the cheapest I've found on ebay for 4" cowl induction pin-ons. Even undercutting it by $10, lol.) So lets see, I should be starting here soon, but keep posting!!! -Colt Cobra

I would love to find a lightweight hood that has the stock appearance of my 1989 GTA. It could just have the spaces open to accept the vents. So far I was thinking I would have to get a flat fiberglass hood and cut the holes myself and find a way to attach my stock vents to it. Does this even sound possible? I need a new hood and would like to lose some weight while replaceing it but it's almost totally stock and I want to keep it looking that way if I can.
