i was wondering if this is a good thing or a bad thing. it seems sorta good, but its also annoying. whenever i have the hatch and passanger door closed and all the windows up it takes quite a bit more force to close the door. this can be the other way around with the hatch or passanger door. my dad gave me the car and said that it was just that the car was sealed up really well still (original weather stripping). if i crack a window or anything like that and try to close a door its fine. so is it that the car is still sealed that well after all these years?

i was just wondering if anyone elses car was like this. i mean its sort of a pain in the ***, its not something i would expect a car to do from the factory and was wondering if there was potentialy a problem associated with it. thought maybe someone else would know for sure.

Mine wasn't that way until I swapped the doors with donor doors from another year. Now, I know what you mean, if everything else is closed it will take a bit more force to get the door closed properly. But, if there is even a 1" crack in either window, it will close easily. I'm confident that its simply the fact that our cars are "air-tight". My t-tops still leak in heavy rain though

Sounds like the weatherstripping is holding up nicely. I had a 73 Chevy truck that did the same thing after I replaced all the rubber.

you'll notice that a lot in small trucks. My parents have one that does it. The air has no where to go when you try and shut the door except to push back on the door. Therefore, the cracked window will give the air somewhere to go and it will shut easy.

And yes, its very annoying. Especially with power windows and u have to turn the car on to crack the window.
