Trans Am no door keys
when i bought this car it never had door keys, only ignition. i went to the GM dealer to get a key cut, somebody must have changed the locks cause the key didnt work. the key didnt even go all the way in on driver door so lock must be frozen. key went in all the other locks but will not turn, so i assumed the lock must have been changed. the local locksmith is kinda a jackass when i called, so i really dont wanna deal with him. is there any other options i can try?

You could change out the locks with no problem. Its easy to do, you just have to remove the inner door panals

Re: Trans Am no door keys
i got the lock cylinder out on the driver side and was just gonna head over to autozone for a couple replacement cylinders but there was this arm that connects the rod to the lock cylinder that was held on with a clip on the end of the cylinder. it was held on with a metal clip it rusted bad and when i attempted to remove it the clip just disintegrated. what can i use to attach this arm to the new cylinder? according to pics on autozone that arm is not included in kit

I'd be surprised if the part was available new at all. GM loves to discontinue all the rods and clips inside doors that hold everything together, and aftermarket companies don't find the small pieces like this profitable, so they're usually not reproduced.
Best bet is to try and find one on a parts car that's in better shape. You could always try rigging something up with zip ties too if possible.

i got it. i went to a hardware store and got a couple retainer clips. i was not talking about the plastic clips the hold the rod in place. i was talking about the metal clip that holds the bracket for the rod. it on the end of the lock cylinder so when you turn key this whole assembly lifts up and pulls the rod with it. hopefully it holds out lol
