Door rods

Need a lil bit of help.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Driver side outer handle has gotten very sloppy. I believe the push nuts / speed nuts were the wrong size to begin with, so I will be tackling that next week.

Also, the key lock has quit working.
I need pics or direction to schematics of the correct door rod orientations for Driver side. Locks worked 1 time, that's all! Key is hard to turn, so I don't want to force it.This is another issue that I have let slide for 8 yrs!

Any / All help MUCH appreciated!!

Doors are MANUAL LOCKS, not electric if that makes a difference?

Re: Door rods

My handle has gotten real loose as well, but looking at it close it's from the pivot point wallowing out on the handle pivot, not much to do besides replace the assembly for mine. Hope that's not the case for you.

Re: Door rods

Me too. These are the originals, and when it went back together after paint, I did
not notice anything....but I needed it done by a certain date so not too much attention paid.
Honestly hoping a rod popped out and nothing more than new nuts for the handle.
Friend recommends new keys // locks when I take it apart.

Re: Door rods

I guess you could. But that would require taking the other door apart as well as the hatch key lock.

Re: Door rods

Very true!
Sometimes a day off goes too fast! It will be about 8 days before I get a day off, this ranks in #3 priority of 5 to do items, so chances are good I will have a half day to get it apart, look things over good, hopefully fixed & back together!
