1991 Camaro RS For Sale
1991 Camaro RS in Los Angeles CA area: V8, T-tops, basic Walker exhaust installed 2016 (to pass CA smog). I obtained this car in 1996, the previous owner was an older guy who took his dog to the vet I worked at back in the day, so this car was built in Van Nuys and hasn't left the L.A. area since. Was in an accident in 1999 - the insurance salvaged but it was worth repairing. The right front fender, rocker panel, door and mirror were replaced - no engine damage, but right front suspension and wheel were replaced. The engine and suspension have been looked after by good mechanics since the day I bought it and well after the accident. No major issues have come up with it and it has been a relatively low cost car to maintain. Used for 45 mile commute (with the occasional trip to the desert to let it "breathe") for over 13 years after the accident and it has run strong. Will need some minor TLC as it hasn't been driven much over the last 4 years. Speedometer and tach will occasionally stop working so mileage is not accurate, it is currently at 198,168 but may be closer to 198,500.
I love this car, I've owned it since 1996. I don't have time to drive it anymore and have many other cars I must maintain, I basically don't have the time and money to put into it like I used to. It was repainted in 2013 because clear coat was peeling. Paint was done at Maaco, so it is not the greatest work, it has some rusting around T-tops, but if your hobby is restoring cars then it would be a quick fixer-upper. It would be a great disservice to put it out of commission, it is definitely a good engine and probably will run strong for a long time - but it definitely needs to be driven instead of sitting around waiting. Price: $3,000
T-top glass is hazy, not sure why.
Rust on t-bar.
Two rips in upholstery on driver seat.
A few cracks on the dash board, cig lighter needs to be fixed, and rearview mirror needs to be remounted (rearview mirror is all in tact just needs to be reglued onto windshield).
Passenger seat belt holder is broken - seatbelt still functioning.
