So I se we have a few Edmontonians here, but how can I tell driving down the road if your the guys I've been chatting with? What are you drivin? any custom paint or wheels or maybe a plate. Help a fellow 3rd genner out here....
This way when we pass each on the open roads,we know "hey that looks like RustyDawgs car" we can throw each other a wave. As opposed to being two ships in the night...
Smooth, I don't have a lot for identifiable features: semi-gloss (okay, it's dead) black paint. Wheels are Pontiac Rallye wheels painted black. The car is lowered. You might have better luck listening for it than seeing it.
I live in central Edmonton and in the summer I drive it to work in the west end. Look for me flying 'round the traffic circle on 107th & 142nd.
Sometimes I make it out to the old A&W in Beverly on the weekends, or perhaps the PetroCan on Ft. Road Thursday nights.
I don't post much - but my car is one that you'd probably spot pretty easily.
I'll update in a couple weeks - I have a deal lined up to purchase a sweet, sweet GTA that's also pretty distinct. I'll post some pictures once I pick it up.
My motor needs a rebuild and my parents told me i can't take it apart in their garage Also, after talking to a bunch of smart people on this board I've decided to save up and just swap out the 305 for something better. After I get a house of course, haha...

That's too bad about your parents - mine were always pretty good about that sorta thing.
One time when they went on vacation I bought an Eclipse with a blown engine and started disassembling it. They were a little surprised when they open the garage door to drive in and I'm standing there pulling an engine out.
I'm in a Carmine 87 IROC - used to park on 149th street all the time and have since moved. You'll notice me due to the GMPP official one piece bra I have on the car (from 1987).
I live in Hardisty (2 hours east on hwy 13). I'm in Edomton a couple times a month in summer. Here's my ride at the research center beside (just east) of South Common in Millwoods.
I am trying to get my 88 done so that I can get it out and drive it, It's gonna have new everything suspension wise and new paint and rims too.
Hopefully by mid august it will be out of the shop.
Only problem is that I got a new aftermarket hi rise spoiler from david t's ( to offset the ss hood) and I think it's too narrow, anyone got a Gm one kickin around they'd sell me?
I'm just outside Edmonton. I got two T/A's, both ex-Players cars. I use to own an 89 Formula 350 (bought it new). Plans are to restore the Player's cars ... when I get time.
David T's is the biggest rip off ever but he has the market cornered, he buys all the camaros and firebirds that are around, I think.
I got a set of grids off ebay for $80 including shipping
As for the GFX, I'm in the same boat couldn't find any so I had to settle for the old style ones I had on the car
My body guy has a friend who owns a wreckers here in edmonton that I got some parts off of, he's way more reasonable than David T's
I'll get his name and number for you if you want ( I don't have it as I dealt directly through the body shop ) He doesn't have the new style GFX though.
I might have a set of taillights left over from an 87 Z28 I took apart. I have an 87 TA for parts as well. PM me if you need some things ... I might have some of what your looking for. I am in Edmonton.
I'm from Edmonton myself and I just joined the forum. Today I took possession of an '82 Berlinetta. Factory Jade Green exterior with green interior. She came with the LG4 and the 3 speed automatic. In all I spent $1500 CDN to acquire it after the previous owners invested a few grand into tuning up the motor and transmission. The car has 265K on it, but the motor still goes like a bat out of hell.
As for the price, it was better than what you can get into Edmonton, and it was delivered to me from Beaumont.
I'll probably want to dump the 14X7"'s next year and try to acquire some Z28 rims if they will work.
Yea David T blows goats. Before I knew any better I joined the Club, Yea 80$ for a t-shirt and a key chain But you get 20% off the 500% marked up parts.
I had some fun tonight. I decided to put the winter tires to the test and they were not bad. I threw the car into some test spins and I was able to compensate. As long as I keep the TH200C in first gear when I start off, its OK. I'll also have to gear down when slowing to a stop. Most of the vehicles I drove in the winter time were FWD, this is my second vehicle with RWD.
hey I was wondering if anyone on here was close to the West Edmonton Mall???? im moving up there next summer looking for people close to there and try to find myself a good I already got a place to stay out there.....anyone??
Thanks
Jason Fitz
anyone go to United cycle by white ave on saturday nights? i brought my camaro there with the hood off and everyone was being a **** and bad mouthing my car because i had green rims on the back (the cars black) anyways i say some 2nd gens but i would like to see some more 3rd gens
Changing the headlights to Silverstars and replacing a bad wiring harness this weekend and replacing the hood/hatch shocks.
I'm getting tired of the broom handle the last owner had under the hood.
I'll be putting in new shocks (Sensatrack) n' springs all around, after Xmas.
I do 99% of my own work to save on costs.
I've been playing with the stock LB8 V6, trying to squeeze out that last ounce of horsepower. Still debating putting in a V8.
I'd hate to do it, but recently I have been pricing out a new Cobalt. I do like the Camaro, but the gas costs are killing me and it's digging me a bigger debt hole.

ive lived in toronto the last 21 stupid years of my life and am SO excited to be moving to edmonton in the next week. Moving into a buddies who managed to get himself setup out there this summer.
got a 90 iroc and a 97 yukon GT
Going to be driving the yukon out and shipping the iroc by train.
Looking forward to metting some of you for cruises and at the strip/track (if i get my car ready in time)
Any of you third genners out there in the edmonton area i could really use some help. I just moved from toronto to the west ed area and have no idea where to look for good shops for my 97 yukon, and of course my third gen.
Also having some issues with finding a place that can do out of province inspections that are at least half descent to deal with.
if anyone can help me shoot me a pm or just list some shops up on here, thanks!!!
my buddy tom works at trail tire in sherwood park they do out of provinces very reasonable no high pressure commisioned paid mechanics
luke
thanks, i actually got reccomended to a place in china town and they were good there, my yukon passed with no problems. Ill keep that place in mind tho for when my camaro gets shipped out here, as well as for my buddies fiero.
also wondering what if any are the big name performance shops in edmonton in general? i know in toronto there was only about 3 shops that were well known for performance. Also looking for a good exhaust shop in the edmonton area as my yukons exhaust is not staying stock for long.
Another question i had was about a couple traffic laws here in edmonton. Was wondering what the laws were around u-turns. Youre obviously allowed to do them but for instance back in ontario you can do it anywhere except within the city limits of toronto. there was another one i wanted to ask....but itll come to me.
i keep thinking more and more theres gotta be someone on here int he edmonton area who would have the ability to set up a message board? Think about it not only would it benefit us all soo much i mean theres a dozen things that id both want to sell as well as want to buy as far as a classified section.
and think you get to start your own club!! come on no ones interested in making this happen?
for performance shops there is afi martin alright and for exhaust i goto shewood exhaust
Cool thanks, ill check those places out.
For anyone who might have some extra parts out there or a parts car i desperatly need the lower plastic portion that makes up the side of the center console for a camaro. Preferably black but any colour will do.
Trying to build some one off custom stuff and i have absolutly NO clue what im doing. Gotta figure out somewhere that i can buy sheetmetal from and kinda go from there.

I have the car. Yes it was vandalized, but the stuff thats intact is in very very nice shape. I have the complete console with a console lid thats not warped or broken and latches just like it left the dealership. I know its a province away but if you are interested let me know.....
Hey everybody... Edmonton Camaro owner here. Pretty new to the boards though. Known about em for a long time, havent done anything about it till now, lol.

I cant wait for summer, trying to save my pennies so i can buy parts i need, need about 500 in gauges and shocks and springs
hehe I think I will, in the near future. I'm currently having problems with my car as well I *think* it's the fuel pump... I don't hear the pump running when I put the ignition in the on position, but I havent checked for flow yet since I parked the car for the winter. She started up briefly, ran for 45 seconds and then died yesterday and wouldn't start up again.
Oh yeah... it's an 89 RS... I should get around to taking pictures soon.

Metal Supermarkets has several locations in edmonton, you can probably get your sheetmetal from there: http://www.metalsupermarkets.com/
