Onlinecarstereo...Terrible Experience
Customer service is the pitts. No e-mails confirming purchase. Reps in customer service were rude, disrespectful and don't even think of asking to speak to a supervisor! Whats worse? Well they have that covered too, when I recieved my order (two weeks late) the apparent new head unit had the serial numbers removed with what looks like an engraving tool. Their response, "try taking pictures of it and sending them to us". For what I asked? "We'll let you know if its normal or not". To save time I stopped at a local stereo shop and confirmed it, as if I didn't know, THATS NOT NORMAL!
Moral of this story is you get what you paid for...that is unless you paid for it at Onlincarstereo!!

Re: Onlinecarstereo...Terrible Experience
there are a lot of online companies selling products that are unauthorized, so they remove serial numbers in order to protect their authorized buyers who are buying in bulk. since the serial numbers can be tracked down to these buyers, they're removed to allow them to continue to sell against the brand's wishes.
lots of stereo buying online's touch and go, kinda why i usually end up buying factory direct or used through ebay

Re: Onlinecarstereo...Terrible Experience
Based on this experience I will never order from them again, and it's also taught me to be more aware of who I'm buying from. How can they legally do this? Take off serial numbers from new products? It seems to me there must some sort of issue legally. In speaking to the local stereo shop they said if it's a new unit and it works properly just keep it, save alot time and heartache from trying to exchange it.
