Holley carb whistling LOUDLY?
I put the Holley 650 double pumper on my car the other day, and aside from a small fuel leak from the fuel line, the only problem I can see I've got is that the thing HOWLS when the car's running.....not just like a vacuum leak or something, but LOUDER than a loose belt or something....
My friend noticed that something is pressed up against the intake manifold (performer), he said its the accelerator pump (located in the front, lower drivers side, has a little spring on it), and that i might just need a small carb spacer.....
Anyone heard of this before? The carb was fine on his engine (performer RPM), and that was just a few weeks ago when I let him borrow it. Thanks,
-Chris

make sure you check the carb gasket surface and make sure it's clean, because i had i problem like that and it sounded like a jet engne or a warped intake sucking in massive amounts of air.

Does it quiet down (or even go away) with the air cleaner on?
I ask because my Holley is like that too without the air cleaner on top, but thats just the nature of the beast... almost all Holleys I've seen do that. Just how they are, nothing is wrong with it.
(this is assuming everything is fitting up the way its supposed to)
