carb'ed or TPI with my cam?

Ok I have a flat tappet cam with 550 intake and 558 exhaust lift and 280/280 duration which means power down low in the RPM range and I only was able to spin it up to 5400 RPM's with a 650 holley double pumper and team G intake. Also on that set up was a set of 52CC 305 heads. Now I was wondering if I switched it to TPI if that would help me out better. Now I plan on getting a set of ported out heads that will mak a SERIOUS diff in my power but what do I need right nowto make better power with my crappy heads I have.....TPI or team G inatek with holley 650 4 barrel double pumper and crappy tune?

You didn't list LSA, but most likely that cam will drive TPI totally bonkers.

Build a total package. Don't try to crutch one part that isn't compatible with the rest.

The carb is big enough for 6300 RPMs as long as the rest of the system backs it up. What are you basing your 5400 RPMs on? Dyno? Wouldn't rev past that?

I believe the LSA is 112. It is a very rough idle. I can spin past 6500 but my power and ends somewhere around the 5300 rpm area and then starts dropping off. I want to see the ET differences between the holley 650 double pumper/stock TPI base and stock runners and throttle body

5300 RPMs would be a fond memory after putting on a stock TPI.
