1987 "20th Anniversary Commemorative Edition" Z28 Convertible
12 Confirmed to Exist
2 of the 12 have the 305 TPI / 5-speed Drivetrain
1 of the 2 is fully equipped.
I'm the lucky owner of the 1.
I have the original 15x7 wheels in storage with NEW P215-65R15 Eagle GT tires which were original to the '87 Z28 and have not been produced by Goodyear in over twelve years.
My friend up north has a 87 z28 vert. There was only 12 made? wow! I am going to ask if he wants to sell it now lol. He drives it on the weekends sometimes and on long cruises instead of his 66 plymouth hemi.

I bought mine from http://www.sporttruckspecialty.com/w...roc-chrome.htm $150/each and includes shipping and no tax! So only $600 for 18x8 delivered to your doorstep...American Racing brand. It also included chrome lugs ($40 value) and center caps for that price. I would ask to make sure they still give you the lugs...that saves you some extra dollars compared to anywhere I looked.
Pic 1 is a mountain shot at about 4000 feet; pic 2 is at about 2000 feet in a mountain pass(a canyon); and pic 3 is a desert shot in front of my thirdgens' future homesite(my own acreage).

Damn! That blue is gorgeous Is it original color? If so, what's the name of it? Any paint code would be great. I may pick this color t when I have my suburban repainted...

Congrats
It's the original color, called Ultra Blue Metallic. The paint code is WA 9591. I have also had another 3rd gen this color, I love it.
I love the 3rd gen convertibles. They are sweet looking. Mine is slowly coming togather, I'm going to do a 2 seater cover for the back. its a 91 RS vert.

The pic of you driving it is now my background at work. God these verts just look jaw-dropping when they are moving!
Thanks, I take it as a compliment.
The picture was actually taken by a friend of mine, a great photographer. It was his ideas to do moving pictues with blurred background and I applaud him for it.
You're right, the convertibles look awesome while moving, what adds to the effect greatly, though, is the 2" drop!! It looks like it's hugging the road.
Oh man .. I'll remember this thread. I live so close to the Beach but I hardly make it down there as much. But heres a pic of my 97SS right before the bridge.. and here is my Truck while I BBQ'd on the beach itself. I've yet to take the 91Z convert. BUT I WILL .. TRUST ME !!
just a random shot of driving right on the coast of the beach and the Gulf of mexico .. of course NOT in the camaro
Randy, I'm glad you posted those pictures. I had been thinking about getting the SS hood for my car. I'd hate to copy off you though. I think with my custom grill and the chrome ZR1's, it would be different enough. We'll see...I have to finish my LSX swap first anyways. Who knows, I may even drive it with no hood for a month or so just to show off the new motor.
You guys suck... you realize that right... The moment I think im going to make some headway on get this gallery updated, you go and post this thread, and im just mesmerized by it.
There were Two, possibly three Convertible TTA's One was a Cloth car (one of the pre-production cars) the other two were Leather. I KNOW of two, the third is unknown...

Dang it John, where are your photos? Nothing in the VGarage or your website (from what I could tell). Have I missed something - I would love to view your vert!
edit: actually I just came across two small pics in a sticky. As any red blooded American knows "MORE IS BETTER". I'm sure I speak for others, MORE PLEASE! Beautiful ride, Sir
Your prompt attention to this matter will be appreciated.
