Thanks man! I would have if I had 5 email addresses, but I sent out an email blast to almost all my contacts.... I would love to have it in a booth at SEMA, but it would need a update with 3pcs forged wheels, LS motor, Baer 6p calipers, and some other stuff on my bucket list.

One giant leap for third gens indeed! I loved the black Nova and the '62 Impala as well. I melted over the Impala's engine bay.
Big Congrats Brandon! You did our community proud.

That black Nova is a customers car of mine. We worked on it over the winter here, helping with some finishing touches with brakes and carb linkage issues. Pictures don't do it justice. The Impala was amazing everywhere... the interior was so classy cool! I hope that someday I can take some small ques from that car and work them into mine.

Also, as a small suggestion, I think you should paint (or dip) the Chevrolet bowtie between the foglamp inserts the same blue that is on the ground effects and ghost stripes. There isn't any red anywhere else on the car.

Yeah I actually had it painted teal at one time. Then I put on Baer brakes with the red Baer logo and I actually liked the small touch of red, and changed the front bowtie back to red. I have contemplated painting the recessed Baer logo with the teal, and going back to the teal bowtie, but always seem to have something more pressing to change around. Thanks for the input and refreshing that thought in my head

I just got a pair of used tonueua latches yesterday. My drivers side is weak and under certain flexes, or bumps the latch will release to the second stop. So hopefully the used one will work better than the one I have...

Well... I finally did it. I made a for sale add. I honestly don't expect to sell it going into winter, but thought I would never know if I didn't try. I started with a higher number to give my self some room to come down if I need too.

I would be happy to see it go for around $8K or above.

I sure hope I can do better than 8k. It will stay with me for that. BluZee sold his with salvage title, and 177k for 7k, so... Got one person interested right now... we'll see.

Re: I'm in trouble... 92 Z03 Z28 Vert
Read through most of the pages, nice job on the resto. Seems that your build was aimed at complete restoration but didn't include the factory sticker package and or interior part. I would guess that you had about 1,000K hours involved with this build?
The site members do not appreciate the time and money it takes to build / rebuild these cars. Been a member since the early 90's period and not much has changed. Still remember when there was an open forum and this site was the end all forum for street racing.
I bought my 87 IROC coupe back in 1990 and have been wrenching on it since, still have it. I purchased my 90 IROC convertible around 2004 and bought as many parts as I could afford from GM as I did with my 87 coupe.
My 90 convertible is up for sale for a more than fair initial asking price. What comes to mind is that this thread has a lot of members nodding their heads in support but what would these same members pay for the car? I would venture to say my clean 200K mile convertible is a better bargain than what Badnblack ended up with and is a better car overall for the price.
This is the dilemma for any 3rd gen owner. Trust that restoration is worth the money and go for it or sit back and beat someone up on the price. Been this way since the early 90's.
BTW, those window seal kits from GM were less than 100.00 bucks in the late 90's ( included the new black trim that attached to the door panels) and the hood insulation was like 35 bucks during the same time period. Window washer and radiator tanks were around 40 bucks each in the early 2000's. I know this because I bought them for my 87 coupe. The OEM steering wheel for my 87 IROC coupe cost 450.00+ in 1995, I have the receipt to prove it. What would some one pay for it now? I would guess less than the price I paid. OEM IROC sticker packages were hard to come by in the early 00's especially the front drivers side black and grey. I know this because I purchased some of the remaining packages when I had my coupe repainted. The 90 convertible has all of the correct stickers on it as well as OEM replacement front lighting fixtures. Carpet and paint are easily replaced, OEM parts are not. Keep that in mind when you think about value of cars. I'm sure Badnblack can attest to how hard it is to find OEM parts and what it costs today. I would venture to say he has more than 10K invested in his "bargain basement" priced Z28 convertible. Keep that in mind when you talk price. Cheap doesn't always turn out cheap.

Well bad news over the weekend... My trade deal fell through. In trying to make sure I wasn't setting my self up for a poor trade, I let a good one slip through my fingers.
This was the car I was gonna trade for... some of you may remember it.
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/ltx-...8-ls1-t56.html
I drug my feet waiting to exchange emails with Jeff the original builder and the current owner accepted an offer and payment on the drivetrain which ended up be a more lucrative deal for him somehow... Oh well.

It did! and the guy that bought it for his wife thinks its too nasty for his wife and was going to trade it for a wonderfully restored convertible.
Yeah he may change his mind, but not looking real good for that 91 right now

Regardless, it's a nice car. Sad to see it not go in the hands of the Black Third Gen Man.
Best of wishes in your car marketing ventures, Brandon, I'll be sure to stay tuned.

I remember this car in the Classifieds when I first joined the site. It was like 50 miles from me here in Georgia. Dude wanted like $11K for it I think. He was a fresh college grad who needed the money to pay off student loans IIRC.

Thanks and I will update with anything. I'm likely showing the car in an indoor show this weekend... with a 4 sale sign in it

You guys had snow out there already in CO. No worries, that car will sell. Shopping for the next one is half the fun. Take your time.
My Verts been at the mechanics all week, after replacing $600 worth of sensors and emission crap, I gave up. I don't mind letting the shop do work - plus in needs inspection sticker. Probably doing valve seals, tune up, brakes, and exhaust leak fix. Once its running better going to phase 3 (body and paint) ...

Yeah sometimes its totally worth it to have someone else just handle the things that can take the fun out of it. I know there was some testing stuff I had to have my guys help me out with on this one too.
LOL! Wow! Google famous... is that a real thing? lol Cool though

Well, I have been driving it the past couple days since the weather has been nice. I ended up starting a project on it that has bugged me for a while... I'm stripping the undercoating off the underbody.
It's a total freaking mess!!! but really starting to look good. I was a jackasss and didn't take any pictures of me doing it, but I will post a couple finished pics when I am 100% done.

I'm using the GUNK brand gel degreaser. Let it sit for a few hours then pressure wash it off. Working well, but taking about 3 applications of degreaser to this point. I think this last one will be it.

Not to steal your thunder but if you type in "Hawaiian orchid metallic" into Google my vert pops up about 10 rows down in the pictures. Not sure why, but it does. I was excited too when I became Google famous.... Congrats!

Soak with degreaser, let sit for as long as possible. Been trying to use 5 hour intervals, then pressure wash and slowly work area by area removing it. It makes a nasty brown film on the water that will stain your concrete and asphalt if you were doing it at home, so I keep having to use the pressure washer to clean the floor as well to remove that film.
I'm almost ready to take pics. Its really un-real how nice it looks. The heat shields look freaking brand new!

Wonder if diesel/kerosene sprayed into the material from a spray bottle would work better?

Maybe? Just not something that I wanna spray over my head and wash down my drains... like the GUNK gel stuff, or the undercoating coming off is that much better, but at least it was designed to go down a drain somewhere.
