Man I knew you had said it was bad, but that really sucks it had to come down and start over. Hope your insurance is being helpful instead of a headache they are most of the time.
Not a chance, the weasels are trying to not pay, it is a real shame how your in good hands but then you find out its not the whole hand, just the middle finger

I heard horror stories about that and FEMA really screwing people over. I'm sorry man. If there was something I could do to help... let me know. Guess if there is anything to feel better about you and the family are safe and still have a home and business in FL.

Yes, it could have been a lot worse, we are blessed in the fact that it was not our primary residence, yet the house has been in our family for 40 years. Built by my parents and the memories as a kid in the summers on the Jersey Shore is what hurts most, right after that is the items that can never be replaced. If the ins co does not pay we are in the hole for nearly 350K to rebuild, sucks but no one died or got hurt so that is a blessing.

I live in this area. A LOT of houses got destroyed both on the islands and the mainland. Another member here still has extensive damage from the storm and he lives in Toms River. He had all Bay flooding. It was bad over there. I am in Brick in a high spot so I got lucky but many did not

I am glad you and your family are okay, and hope that the insurance company comes to their senses.
BTW, hope to see an update soon, BADNBLK!

My best advice ... and you probably already did this ...
Get a Lawyer. Insurance companies will hold the money until they are forced to let it go.

Re: I'm in trouble... 92 Z03 Z28 Vert
I love this thread. I've picked up at least a dozen great techniques to help cleanup my car, a '92 Z28 Z03 Convertible...
As the rarity of these cars has been discussed, I'm very curious as to how rare. I have the breakdown on the number of '92 Z28 Convertible (1254) and Five Speeds (519), but I haven't been able to find the number of Anniversary Edition (Z03) Z28 Convertibles.
Great job on the work you've done on the car. Very impressive results, and I'll be copying a lot of what you've done.
Thanks again!

I know on the Z03 Z28 Heritage verts with auto trans, there was 208 made, and I believe the 5spd was in the 150-160's... I kinda skipped the 5spd Z03's cause... I don't have one. I hope to have some updates on mine here soon.

Re: I'm in trouble... 92 Z03 Z28 Vert
Thanks again! Do you happen to remember where you found the number of Z03 Z28 'Verts? Since mine happens to be a Five Speed, I'd like to look it up.
I might start a thread when I dig into the car a little more. So far it's been pretty basic stuff:
Heater Core
Window Switches
Shifter ****
Ebrake Handle
Cigarette Lighter (old one melted through the Instrument Bezel)
Instrument Bezel
Door Sills
For now, I'm driving it as is. Runs nice, handles well and it looks good from 10 feet away!
Are you going to post your's for sale on this site?

I don't really know where I will sell it when it comes time. I have always had a rule of selling something that you never show what it looked like before your worked on it... I don't know. It's still not painted and not sure what I'm gonna do with that, so I got time.

Re: I'm in trouble... 92 Z03 Z28 Vert
So I polished up a couple customer vehicles late Friday night and found one of the products I was using doing an awesome job pulling up oxidation and leaving a great shine in one step... so thought I would pull out the pads and give the "vert" another go around, Sunday afternoon.
I'm very happy with the results... best it has looked exterior wise yet.

Some interior shots, since I didn't have any outside. lighting wasn't really great for those.
And two from this morning. Too cold for top down

Looks good. Two questions one more relevant than the other.
1). What product?
2). What's your definition of too cold?

2). It was 36 degrees yesterday on my 20+ mile drive to work as the sun was coming up. Snowing today I assume you would be dressed like an eskimo for that haha!
Make me a offer. I plan on selling it after the paint and finishing stuff is done anyway...

Based on an estimate from an avid Craigslist stalker, you could easily get 6-7K out of her. I've seen low-option IROC's with awful clearcoat burn go for 3-4K.

Man... I must be weird rules of my vert are unless it's raining or snowing.... Top is down. I ride to work all the time in winter with the top down at around 30 degrees.... Just turn the heater on full blast and wear a good jacket...

Cool I'm have to look for that. I hand wax my vert, so it'll probably take a little bit longer.

I have been to Florida when it was 55 degree and everyone was bundled up like it was the ice age HAHA! I bet you get some funny looks. Guess I'm not the hardcore rooflessness
Guess I need to weigh the pro's cons of letting it go without painting.

Re: I'm in trouble... 92 Z03 Z28 Vert
I found this '91 RS 'Vert nearby for $4800. It's not a heritage and it's got cheap wheels on it. (Also looks like the airbag has been deployed at some point.) The seat covers don't inspire confidence either.
Looks like it's been recently painted, though. (Albeit with chipping on the front clip).
We need an official CL listings thread.

You would definitely get the most exposure with people looking to buy. Be prepared to sell it if you list it!
Third gens also seem to be selling like hotcakes right now, as the good ones have become rare on the ATL CL. (I'm sure 'verts would be even more desirable since spring is here)

Leave them for the buyer if you sell it as is. If they want to paint it they won't have to buy new emblems, if they don't repaint it they might like the unbadged sleeper look.

Leave them off and just include them as part of the sale (or not). I don't think that less than perfect badging will make or break the sale.

I did get some good news from my painter that stopped by the shop today. He can get my car in pretty soon... First week of May. We were both talking about how much better it looked after the last polish, and I think that we are only gonna re-spray the trouble areas. Kinda meet in the middle between a full re-spray. So gonna hold off on putting it out for sale at this point

Re: I'm in trouble... 92 Z03 Z28 Vert
I opened up my trunk to find a wonderful "surprise"... my Hawks vert header panel for the trim on the front of the top. I forgot about it and since I had it locked away in the trunk I spaced putting it on.
Got it on and man does it really help provide the finished look of the top from the inside. Its not as tight as I would have really liked... kinda rattles a little over some bumps, but I might try some double sided tape to cut out the rattles. Anyone else use this and have a rattle?

My header bow plastic had Velcro in strategic positions to hold it in place and reduce rattles..... No shame if it's hidden well and doesn't fall out.

Well I have pretty much ran out of Craigslist parts a while ago, but still selling off stuff on craigslist to help fund the project.
For those who have been following. We are spraying the entire car instead of attempting to "cheap out" and just paint the problem areas. Gonna cost more, but I think in the long run it will be worth it.
