Tire size.
I have a 92 305 Z28 with some after market suspension installed. I have 245/50/16's on stock wheels and the fronts rub on the inner fender when wheel is all the way turned. I've lived with it and just don't lock the wheel all the way. Every shop just tells me I need to put 235/55/16's on, tell me I'm running too wide of a tire. What size tires are you guys running and are you having any problems? I suspect my springs are a little old and maybe sagging some. Thoughts?

Re: Tire size.
I just changed my original 245 X 16 X 50 wheels and tires. Mine always rubbed on the inner wheel wells. My 91 Trans Am convertible is running Pro Kit lowering springs. What you could do is move the bump stop to stop the rubbing but I really wouldn't worry about it. I am now running 18 inch wheels all round. 245 on the front and 275 on the rear. My plans are to soon change to big brakes front and rear..

I've been running the same size as you are and have never had a problem on my 1988 IROC convertible and this car also has the G92 gear option. I don't know if it has any stiffer springs than my 1989 IROC convertible that doesn't have G92 gears. My 1989 looks like it sits about 1/2" lower and does rub on some turns into an angled driveway. My 1989 has 49,000 miles versus my 1988 has 17,000 miles so the springs could be weaker on it. Have you made sure you don't have a front wheel on the rear and a rear wheel on the front of the car on either side?

Re: Tire size.
Thanks for the replies so far. No I don't have any spacers behind the wheels. And I do have the front wheels on the front and the rears on the rear. I recently bought a 1980 Datsun 280Z in really excellent condition, 5 speed manual tee tops. Turns out it is a very valuable car because it's a 10th anniversary model in a very rare color combination. One of the two cars has to go due to garage space, and maintenance requirements. So I'm trying to fix as many things as possible on both cars at once while I decide which to keep.

Re: Tire size.
Yes the 280Z is much more valuable, at the moment though it isn't as fun to drive as my Z28. And the 280Z is so valuable I wonder about putting too many miles on it, and then there is the problem of all of crazy as SH$T other drivers out there. Getting the Camaro wrecked is one thing, but if the Datsun got wrecked, original paint, that would be a real disaster.
