Temp gage problems
Hey all, I have a weird problem with my temperature gage. A few weeks ago while changing the plugs in my car I ripped the wire off the temp-sender unit. Well after finally finding where is was, Well I hooked it back up, but now the temperature doesn't read off right; it only goes as high as 120, even when hot. Is it lack of a good connection between the wire and the sensor?
Thanks in advance!

I may not have an answer for you, but My '88 IROC did the same. When I bought the car I found that the sending unit was not connected to the guage. The wiring is burnt a little from the headers and the connector was held onto the wire with electrical tape, but the wiring wasn't connected.
I've wired the unit up and my IROC shows temps of 220-250 degrees on the guage, but shows no signs of overheating.
Looks like it's time for replacement guages and senders.
