Ok well the Radiator is fairly new, I would say about 4-5 years old now. Worked fine until yesterday. Seems weird, I think the car is over heating but my Gage doesn't work so I can't tell.

Anyway, at first some rad fluid was leaking out of the cap on the top left of the rad. It was a little low so I added water (Is that a no no?) About half hour later I shut the car off, everything looked fine and dandy.

About 2 min after car shut off I heard a BURST! And i saw rad fluid dripping underneath the car. I popped the hood and the HOSE to the intake manifold came off and sprayed Rad fluid all over the engine.

So I'm thinking maybe there allot of pressure somewhere or something.

Any ideas guys?

There's always enough pressure to blow the hose off if it's either weakened from old age or not clamped on well enough. Get a new hose and you may as well get a new thermostat while it's opened up since they're pretty cheap. Might try a 180 degree one rather than the stock 195. What makes you think it's overheating? And how old is the radiator cap? Also cheap to replace

First of all fix the gauge! Then replace the thermostat and the hose. Over heating is an easy way to blow an engine.

Car just seemed really HOT in the cabin, the heat is coming from the engine. But I also see the Coolant bottle pretty active almost looks the the water/coolant in the bottle is boiling.
The cap is the original from 1982 - Rad is about 4-5 years old.

The hose is fairly new as well. As for the gage, how would I even attempt to do this? what wire in the engine bay corresponds with the temp gage?

Single green wire should connect to the temp sender located in the head on the driver side between the first two spark plugs. Get a new cap, they're cheap

start with a new hose, cap, and thermostat for good measure. if your gauge isn't working, you can always grab a cheap one just for testing purposes for around $30. Engine temp's important, definitely want to keep an eye on for a bit to make sure you don't have any other issues going on
