Is there a difference...

...between auto and manual PROM programs? My idle speed has been screwy since I swapped transmissions, and I would like to know if there really is a difference in the fuel curves. Or do I just need to see if putting in a new fuel filter and air box section will help? BTW, I have a 6 with the 302 ECM using either the HNR or APFR codes, they both do the same thing...

:edit: On the same note, I also need to know if there is any really hard work involved in swapping my MAF system for a MAP system from a 91 V6, such as repinning the C207 connector and the connector on the firewall near the steering column. I can get the harness and ECM from the 91 V6 (it's also a bird).

Re: Is there a difference...

there is a difference between auto & standard trans chips.
it has to do with when the ECM returns to idle vs vehicle speed, & also i believe base idle. speed. there may also be other differences such as the spark tables.

i can't help on the maf to SD swap, sorry.

Re: Is there a difference...

If that's the case, can someone give me a P/N or broadcast code for a PROM for a 302 ECM with the T5? Or, even better, if someone happens to have one kicking around they would like to get rid of, I'll take it off of you...
