Accel Thruster project
ECM is installed and running. Basic tune is complete and now working on the higher RPM / load areas. Have not done much WOT yet.
Things I like:
Well made
Install was pretty non eventful
Got it running quickly
Idle is easy to get sorted out
Works really well
Hooked right up to the GM HEI distributor
Engine runs well and has no hesitation
Things I don't like:
Documentation SUCKS. Can't say it any more plainly.
Support is lame. FAQ and web site don't get updated.
No forum!!
Poor selection of base configs as starting points
Misc:
Wide band O2 is a good idea. I bought an Innovate LC1 and configured it to work with the Thruster. It was much cheaper than the Accel wide band. Down side is that the Accel includes a data logger in their controller. Up side is that the Innovate included a display for the dash.
It's too bad because the system does just what it is supposed to do and working with it is not too difficult. You would think they would get more sales if they helped the customer be successful.
Still happy with the purchase. Feel like I got my $$ worth. It ended up being about $1550 by the time I got the wide band O2. I was faced with buying a new MAF and burnoff relay so rather than spend almost $900 and still have an old / early system an upgrade was a better option.

Sounds cool keep us updated.
I understand that it is another Meaney based ECU,...it should work great.

Re: Accel Thruster project
Getting ready to head to the dyno in a couple of weeks. Also tweaking the A/F ratio and timing at cruise for fuel economy.
Anyone know what the max AF ratio a 350 TPI L98 can run safely at low load conditions? I am thinking 15.5:1 should be OK at 2,000 rpm (about 70 mph). How about the timing? Any suggestions?
