Is my comp programmable?
I've got an 86 Bird - 2.8L MPFI. Can I actually program this chip with the methods described in the intro article and the other sites listed?
My goal is just to eek out a little performance/fuel economy. Every little bit helps.
Thanks for your help.

The V6 uses the same ecms as the TPI cars. The MAF V6 cars need to use MAF TPI knowledge and SD V6 cars can use SD TPI knowledge.
The current article is geared to SD cars. This is because the SD people have been at it a little longer and thus there is more knowledge available at this time.
But there is a lot of MAF TPI guys here now and they are all "diving" into it too. As they make more discoveries and share the information, then the MAF people will catch up. I am sure within the next month or so either Madmax, 88IROCs (to name a few) will begin posting what they have discovered about the MAF system and have suggested tuning techniques for you.
Stay tuned, the best is yet to come as many of the other "tuning techniques" are common to both SD and MAF.
PS: Its good to see a few V6 guys here too. An eprom is an eprom as far as I am concern. Hell, if I hadn't gotten such a good deal on my wife's car (free), she'd be driving a V6 F-body right now.

Thanks guys! Well, I guess its time to start researching. It will be a while before I can begin burning, I need to bring the car back to normal running condition before I start to play with the chip.
Again, thanks for the help.
