Car: Trans Am -89

Need $8d 383 XFI280 bin file

Hi!
I tried to go with S_V4 and modded Ve-tables (kPa), but engine runs very rich mixture. Injectors size changed to #32 and engine displacement 785cc/cyl. Also stock AUJP is tried.
WB gauge shows 10:1 AFR values and very rough idle or engine stops totally.
If someone has a similar setup with well working charts, I´d really appreciate if he/she could e-mail me the bin file so that I´d have something to start with.

Engine specs:

383 gen1 4-bolt 1-piece
9.7:1
AFR 195 #1040 (65cc)
Comp XFI 280 (08-467-8) with Scorpion 1.6 rockers
Modded LT1 intake with BBK 52mm TB and cold air K&N filter
Accel 32lb/hr injectors and adjustable fuel regulator
MAF to Speed Density Swap ECM ´730, $8D with Moates Ostrich 2.0 emulator, Tuner Pro RT software (before ECM´165 with Ostrich 2.0)
Edelbrock TES headers with 3" QTP electric cut out, w/o cat
MSD 6200 box,
Innovate MXT-L Wideband O2 gauge

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like your fuel pressure is higher than you think it is.
To get running, increase your injector size to reduce the fuel and get the AFR higher. Then massage the VE tables lower and reduce the injector constant until it is correct. Then begin to tweak other items like startup, Idle RPM vs coolant, etc.
Start with a moderate timing setup that runs, don't go for power output until the previous step is working.
That's how I got my 406 to run initially.
Using the emulator should help to do that.
Most of all, confirm there are no wiring or mechanical problems. All sensors "appear to read" correctly and are responding.
Open the TB blades a bit, reset the IAC and TPS.
Make a fresh start.

Re: Need $8d 383 XFI280 bin file

I would start by making my closed throttle SA table 29* and all the cell in the main SA table around idle 29*, then zero out the four idle SA table modifiers, also a good idea would be to change the idle O2 switch pionts to 400, 400, 450 since that cam has 58* of overlap, a good place to start with in the VE table cells around idle would be 30-35.

Just remember if you have a vacuum leak or a exhaust leak upstream of the WB its going to show rich, also the cam my not allow the use of the WB reading because of the overlap, you may just have to tune it for best idle and read the plugs.

Re: Need $8d 383 XFI280 bin file

Good stuff here guys .... our build is very similar in that we're also working with a high lift, long duration cam .... our lSA is 110 ... which adds to the problem ...
will we be able to develop a WB marker (sorta speak) like using 10.5 vs 14.7 as a placeholder to shoot for ??? or will it be totally unreliable /??
Please let us know how its coming along ... and I will do the same ...
thx for posting up !!!

Re: Need $8d 383 XFI280 bin file

More fuel .... just did overall low VE fuel increases till it settled down a bit ... and start the process from there .... mine liked mid to low 30s VE and mid to high 20s in the SA table ....
will get the idle brought back down to about 850 tomorrow and go from there ..... will keep you advised ...
