Third Tail Light is melting the housing...WHY?
my third tail light has worked on and off for a year. i took the cover off and the light contacts are grey colored and getting thin from bein really hot.. the bulb has plastic that is melted and the socket that it plugs into is melted.. It has even started to melt the red lense that covers the light.. why is everything melting? i can definatly tell its getting very hot but why?

Sounds to me like your connections aren't tight!! This will cause the bulbs to get very hot as well as the lighting unit itself!! Replace all the bulbs and if that doesn't help then you have internal problems with the unit!!
