T-5 conversion

Working on a 700-r4 to T-5 conversion and I've run into another snag. The 700r4 shifter had 2 cables running to it. One of them was the actual shift cable. That one is gone now. The other runs from the shifter to the steering column. I don't know what this is, what it does, and/or how to get rid of it. What is it, can I get rid of it, and do I need to bypass it somehow?

It's the cable for the shifter lockout when the car is off. It leads to the ignition switch. You should be able to remove the cable from the switch or, you can go buy a replacement ignition switch for a standard shift at autozone for like $12-14.
