Power antenna on/off switch
I installed an on/off switch to manually control my power antenna.
This helps eliminate unnecessary wear and tear on the antenna motor. Also while I am listening to CD's the antenna is not extended.
To do this, all you need to do is remove the radio. Find the pink wire. The pink wire tells the antenna relay that the radio is on. Cut the pink wire. Install a single pole/single throw toggle switch on the pink wire. Mount the toggle switch in a hidden location. I put mine on the side of my console under the dash, so I could reach it while I'm driving.
If the radio is on and the switch is on the antenna is up, if the radio is on and the switch is off the antenna is down.
Simple and inexpensive! My kind of mod

thats a good idea for people who have the stock decks(like me), although most aftermarket radios have a dedicated "power antenna" connection so the antenna will only raise while the radio function is being used, and a seperate "Remote on" wire.

Ya, my deck is aftermarket but the antenna was always up when I was listining to CD's. So I must have an older aftermarket tape/cd player.
