Neutral/Park Safety as a Kill Switch Which Wire?
TGO Guys,
Our Z-28 will soon be repainted and it's likely to get a little more attention from a thief or joy-rider. Currently, it's safe as can be, we could probably leave the doors unlocked and the keys in the ignition. LOL LOL LOL LOL. Once the final paint is on that may change things a bit as I'm sure she will turn heads for all the RIGHT reasons!
We really can't afford an extravagant alarm system and realize that a PROFESSIONAL thief will be able to circumvent that system anyway. We just want to help confuse a novice, hopefully for long enough that he gives up?
We want to use the neutral/park safety switch to disable starting/cranking by cutting in a switch that we will hide in an unusual location. We may double-up and kill power to the Dizzy as well (with an additional switch).
Which wire (color) would be the best to cut/break with a switch on the connector to the shifter assy? We are using a '86 LG4 harness NOT the original '82 CFI as I assume there may be a difference?
We tried a search but didn't find enough information.... we know others have used this method(s).
Thanks a bunch...
Kurt & Derek

Trickster,
Therefore the YELLOW enters, completes the "Connection" and exits PURPLE!?
Unless someone else has a strong objection..... We're cuttin' the Purple.
Thank you Trickster!
Sincerely,
Kurt & Derek
