stupid headlight switch

Hey whats up.... Here is the deal... I have a 1992 Camaro RS and the previous owner put dim LED lights in the gauge cluster. Also the speedo gauge didn't read. My dad had used speedo gears for the transmission that we replaced a week ago but the speedo still doesn't read. Today I looked behind the gauge cluster for any loose connectors and found a six pin connector with 2 clips on each end. I kept in mind that some people don't connect the speedo wires to the gauge cluster and tired to remove the cluster trim to get to the gauge cluster. Everything is removed but the headlight ****/switch. I looked in a service manual and it says 2. remove switch **** (27) by relasing the release botton on the switch (26) from under neath the instrament pannel. I did that and these methods also.

I found a mushroom shaped button and pressed it in and pulled the **** out but it won't budge from the trim. I am thinking someone glued the thing in. Does anyone know the best way to remove the headlight **** on a 1992 Camaro RS.
