How to add junction block to car without one?

I want to add a junction block near my battery to power the relays for my fans and fuel pump.I have them wired right to the battery positive right now and wish to clean this area up.

I plan to put it on the driver side of the rad support while the battery is on the passenger side.

Do I use a fusible link between the battery and junction block, or is the junction block hard wired without fuseable protection?

What is a good size wire to use to hook up the JB to the battery?

Later cars have sort of a junction block (really just a large screw where all the main power wires branch off of). The wire powering the block has a fusible link. It's mounted to the radiator support near the battery, and looks to use either 10 or 8 gauge wiring.
