Im going to be taking on a small project over the winter and im just doing my research right now.

The plan is to install an air/fuel ratio gauge with the functionality of a wideband, but much much cheaper than a wideband.

One of the requirements is a digital volt meter, that is used to display the AF ratio. However, i dont want to mount a big honkin volt/multi meter on my dash or somewhere on the interior.

I was wondering if it was possible to "remotely" display the output of the DVM on a smaller screen??? Or maybe someone sells a meter that is two peices. One that does the computing, and the other that displays the output.

Ideally id like to mount this on my dash or possibly in the overhead console, so it had to be reasonable small.

Anyone know of such a device?

If it has the functionality of a wideband, then it is a wideband.

You don't care if it displays in volts instead of AFR? Just get a digital panel meter.

I meant to say the functionailty of a wideband, without the price of the autometer kit (or summit, or whoever, im not sure who sells it) that goes for a few hundred.

The display will be in volts, but there is guy who went through the trouble of making a conversion chart for which volts = which AFR. Ill post the link in a minute.

Where would i get a digital panel meter, and what does it look like? I just care thats its correct to atleast 2 decimal places or able to read in mV.

That's for a narrowband sensor. It doesn't have the functionality of a wideband, and is next to useless.

I dont think the one the guy made with the O2 sensor and voltmeter is a narrowband.

I dont understand. I thought a narrowband referred to a sensor that could only detect three conditions. 14.7:1, above said, and below. Whereas a wideband could determine exactly which AFR you were at. Is this not correct?

The link i provided shows a sensor that (when converted from volts to AFR) would show which AFR the engine was at, during all engine operation circumstances.

Please explain. Thanks.
