headlight buzzer

i am tired of leaving my lights on and decided to get a buzzer to install so that it would go off if my headlights are on and ign is off.
usually, you would put the buzzer between the acc1 and acc2 spots on the fuse block, acc1 being hot when headlights are on and acc2 being hot when ign is on.
problem is, i cannot find anything like this on the fuse block.
its probably labeled weird and i am staring right at it, but if anyone can tell me where these two fuse block locations are, i would be very happy.
thanks

Re: headlight buzzer

Your car should already have one. Does the buzzer go off for a couple of seconds (timed with the seatbelt light on the dash) when you first turn the key on? If not, then you probably need a new(er) one.

Re: headlight buzzer

it has a seatbelt and "key in ignition with door open" buzzer, but no headlight buzzer.
i was hoping to just connect the acc1 and acc2 to the existing buzzers, but i cannot seem to find them, granted, its pretty hard to find anything under that dash. its so cramped down there.
in my b-body, i usually just lay on the floor between the seat and the dash and have no problem doing any work.
this camaro is a whole different animal.

anyone feel like tracing wiring to find out what circuits cause the buzzer to go off with ign off and headlights on?
thanks

Re: headlight buzzer

My 85 Camaro shop manual has a section on the Audio Alarm System (Sport Coupe), located in the convenience center.

Buzzer alarm: Constant pitch buzz, all conditions
Chime alarm: Fast pulsed chime, lights-on
Fast chime, key warning
Slow chime, seatbelt warning

Circuit Operation
Lights-on Warning

This circuit needs voltage through the INST FUSE, STOP HAZ FUSE, and the GAGES FUSE to operate properly. When the LIGHT SWITCH is in "Head" or "Park," voltage is applied through the INST FUSE to the solid state AUDIO ALARM ASSEMBLY. When the ignition switch is in "Run," "Bulb Test," or "Start," voltage is applied through the GAGES FUSE to the solid state AUDIO ALARM ASSEMBLY. These two voltages are sensed by the solid state unit and the Lights-On Warning is not sounded.

When the IGNITION SWITCH is turned to "Off," the GAGES FUSE loses voltage, and the solid state unit senses the change. If voltage is still available from the INST FUSE, current flows to sound the alarm. This current grounds at G200. The alarm can be turned off by turning the Light Switch to "Off." The AUDIO ALARM ASSEMBLY no longer senses the voltage from the LIGHT SWITCH, so the alarm does not sound.

TEST LIGHTS-ON WARNING
1. Turn LIGHT SWITCH to "Park" and I/P LIGHTS to "Bright."
2. GRY wire at FUSE BLOCK: 12 volts.
3. Turn LIGHT SWITCH TO "Off."
4. GRY wire at FUSE BLOCK: 0 volts.
5. Turn IGNITION SWITCH to "Off."
6. Chime does not sound.
7. Turn LIGHT SWITCH to "Park" and I/P LIGHTS to "Bright."
8. Chime sounds fast-pulse tone.
9. Turn LIGHT SWITCH TO "Off."
10. Chime does not sound.
