Security system question

Hey guys still trying to figure out my fuel cut off problem, Does VATS turn off when the car starts or does it continually check the resistance while the car is turned on?

i'm just trying to eliminate the possibility that VATS sometimes "burps" when the car is operating and then cuts off the fuel and kills the car, i replaced the lock cylinder this year and have gotten a new key with the right resistance, this problem has plagued me all year and it seems to be only after i replaced the lock cylinder in the column

Re: Security system question

VATS disrupts electric to starter - has nothing to do with fuel. Try replacing the fuel pump relay - it may be on the fritz.

Once you have started the car with the correct key a bad connection between the key and VATS won’t matter till you’ve shut it down therefore you have a different problem.

Due to the fact it happened after you replaced the lock cylinder monitor the RUN circuit output with a small light bulb to determine consistency among the RUN circuit and cutting out of the engine.

If you observe the bulb flicker with the cutout you know you have an intermittent connection in the RUN line.

Happy Racing!

Fog lights are not driving lights. They look doofy. Turn em off slow pokes.

How bout those nervous nellies too scared to drive without headlights on in the daytime or if there is a little rain!
