I got a new cluster with gauges to replace my idiot light cluster and I went to the auto store to get the sending units to replace the idiot light switches.
Well I got the oil pressure sender but when I asked them to look up the engine temp sender they could only get the switch to come up, so then the guy told me that they were the same thing and it doesn't matter. I didn't believe him so I went to another auto store and they gave me one but I'm still concerned that it might be the wrong one. Is there any way to tell by looking at it if its a gauge sender and not a idiot light switch? Or is there really no difference? Thanks!
I forgot about looking up the part number, its a BWD part number WT3000Z. This is the description they are giving me on the sites that I found on search.
BWD Coolant Temperature Sensor
Temperature sensor design specifies tight tolerance thermistor response values to help assure accuracy of the temperature measurement and proper part operation.
