WIPER Motor..Driving me nuts now.

I have a DELAY Wiper motor. It was working fine then it just stopped, no clue why. Here's the thing, when I turn on the Wiper I hear a click coming from the wiper motor, right where the washer fluid hoses are. So I'm sure power is getting to the motor.

Any ideas guys?

The click is an internal relay picking up to power the motor. So either the motor is bad or the wiper blade linkage is broken/stuck so the wipers don't move and the motor does not start.

With the car off, remove the wiper assembly cover and find the black with pink strip wire. If you apply 12 volts to this wire and the motor still does not run your best bet will be to replace the motor/entire wiper assembly.

Thanks man, I will def try that. Quick question tho, is it possible to fry the motor and not the relay with a bad short or something? the guy who had this car before really did a hack job on a lot of the wireing in the car. He was trying to build a Knight Rider replica. It was working, but once i gutted out all the electrical work he did and tried to put everything back to normal thats when the wiper motor stoped working. Im only asking because I dont want to spend the money to put a re-furb in there to blow it out.

Thanks again for the response.

Alright so I couldn't find the pink wire strip untill I pulled off the whole motor form the car. I went out and purchased a NEW wiper motor. However the place requires you to use the old Electrical components form your old motor and attach it to the new motor. Its actually not that hard, 3 screws and 2 wires fairly simple.

So I did this and I got the SAME result. There is the clicking sound but no movment on the motor at all. Which is OK I guess my old motor is fine and I can return the NEW one. But the wiper assembly (Electrical) is probably what is gone bad, I must have shorted something out.

Any ideas? Where in hell do you get a whole new wire assembly for this wiper motor?

Re: WIPER Motor..Driving me nuts now.

Alright So I found a new WIPER electrical board and washer pump. the Brand is TICO $48. I followed the instructions and assembled it on to the old Wiper Motor.

OF course SAME result. This time smoke was coming out of the NEW washer pump.

Something is crossed somewhere. Does anyone have any ideas on this?
