Re: Mysterious wire by fuse panel

If everything works, don't sweat it. EVERY car has many wires for options and accessories that are not fitted into every car - if you've only found one disconnected wire thus far, you haven't been looking very hard ... I'll bet your car has at least a dozen connectors not being used.

Re: Mysterious wire by fuse panel

I have something very similar near the fuse panel in my 88 RS. It was suggested that it might be for rear speakers, but I haven't gotten far enough along to work on the stereo.

The rear speaker wires run along the passenger side, the wire colours are brown, yellow, Dark blue and light blue.

The orange wires in the connector would be to supply (usually) constant power to an accessory, such as hatch release or hatch light, power mirrors, etc.

Re: Mysterious wire by fuse panel

Thanks. Could be the hatch release. The gearbox in the thing was shattered when I got it, so I just fixed the assembly in place. Works fine for my use.
