Why does a wire from the e-brake light plug into the brake booster?

Why does a wire from the e-brake light plug into the brake booster?

Long story short, swapped to carb, then did a 100% rewire for a more minimalist and clean approach.

There is a tan w\white wire that plugs into the metal at the base of the e-brake. This wire attaches to the e-brake light in the gauge cluster, and THEN runs out the main firewall wire pack and plugs in directly underneath the brake fluid reservoir, into the metal part that all the brake lines plug into.

I figure that the wire going to the metal in the base of the e-brake is part of what makes the trunk popper not work unless the e-brake is on, and I get that you mine-as-well use that wire to run the e-brake light, but what the hell did it go to the brake booster for? I've been running for a few days without having it or an e-brake light hooked up and see no difference. Anyone know?

what the hell did it go to the brake booster for?
Warning light serves 2 purposes.
Shows your park brake is on and/or that you have a fault with the brakes
Switch on M/c moves if you loose pressure on one side of system
