Angel Halo Headlight Conversion Kit
So when i looked around i didn't find much info on the board. Just as far as this specific kit. So I figured I would do a little write up. (First write up on anything lol)
First off i picked up this exact kit.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-1986-1987-1988-1989-1992-CAMARO-ANGEL-HALO-CLEAR-HEADLIGHTS-BUMPER-COMBO-/300878993797?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item460dc91985&vxp=mtr
Came with everything needed. Including all the bulbs needed. The blue looking 194 bulbs put out a cool white color. (As shown in one of the attached pictures.)
I decided i wanted to go with LED's so i picked up some green 4 LED 90deg.

I like the LED's for the power consumption. Since i plan on leaving them on at cruise nights and stuff. And the green matched the paint obviously.
So once i got the old sealed beams out of the car. Was pretty difficult with room. I actually put a little WD40 on the bumper on the paint so the screw driver could slide easily and not take paint with it.. I was able to test fit a full assembles unit. With the bulb, cover, halo bulbs and wires, and the conversion pigtails attached. There needed to be some modifications to the back of the headlight buckets to give enough room for the rubber dust boots, and the halo bulb wires. I just used a carbide bit on a air die grinder. and took my time and made the back hole wider. I didn't want to take them off the car and risk breaking anything. In the one picture attached, the left was opened up, and the right bucket was still stock.
After Everything had clearance, it was as simple as installing new sealed beams. I made sure all the wires weren't pinched or rubbing. I crimped the neg leads for the halo's on each side and used a self tapping screw to ground them out on the body. And then ran one pos wire connecting all the halo lights into the cab to a switch. That way the halo's aren't running all the time with say the parking lights. And i can just leave them on at shows instead of all the parking lights.
Also i am not 100% positive if the green is legal on the street.. they don't flash obviously.. but just a safe measure HAHA. Less tickets = more money for parts haha...

Just headlights, no halos.
I still have to install the front clear markers, and the clear side markers. So i will keep everyone posted on pictures for those. Thanks.

Can you explain a bit more about how you did this? I would love to fix mine so that the halos don't run all the time like you did. Also where did you find an LED small enough to fit those holes?
