Where are the controls held for the auto window feature?
If I use a fourth gen switch will it auto roll up/down my window or is it in the motor or some where else completely????

Thanks, gonna be putting on my fourth gen door panels this summer and I would very much like to have that option. What does this part look like? and how hard do you think it would be to slap it in somewhere??

Well, you can get one from Directed Electronics Incorporated(DEI). They make one that automates existing power windows. Check at your local stereo/alarm shop. They should be able to get you one and install if needed. This would a lot easier than integrating the factory module.

DEI530T window modules will add "one touch" up and "one touch" down to both windows in your bird. Tap the down button, and the window will roll down fully and stop, same with the up button.

DEI window modules work on current sensing to determine when window is rolled fully up or down. When a window motor stalls at the end of the window travel range, the electric motor draws considerably more current than when the window is still moving. One touch down is safe, but one touch up can be difficult to calibrate so that it won't amputate a childs finger but at the same time has enough power to move an iced over window in the winter time.

As for sources, there's the local car audio shop, ebay, and places such as www.autotoys.com

If you just want one touch down, you can grab the one touch window module out of a ford. The window motors work on the same wiring system, ground at rest, reverse polarity. Old chevy motors draw a little bit more current than newer fords, so you may have to swap a couple resistors.
