Im still waiting to hear word on the 9 inch rear end. I have one at the shop just waiting to get narrowed and installed in my car. I just need a PM with a price/options list and a place to send my check.

HE IS DEAD JIM !!!! I HAVE SENT SEVERAL PM OVER THE LAST COUPLE OF WEEKS HE WILL NOT REPLY TO ANYONE I EVEN OFFERED TO SEND MONEY NO RESPONSE ........
Too bad. I really wanted to see how he tackled the torque arm mount. BMR featured a three link set up for a gen 1 F-body in the latest Hot Rod Magazine. It's a very clean set up that would work for a 3rd gen, if someone had the means.
I see no advantage to locking this thread. Maybe he got a job and has been busy................to my knowledge he doesn't have anyone's money. Throttle back, if it happenes, then so be it.............. if not, no loss.
like i said before;i have tax money burning a hole in my pocket..... i can by a rear end soon ; or i am going to have to spend it on my girlfriend. (that aint happening) or on bills.(more likely)

I'm a couple hours away from the original poster. First saw an ad he posted in the local craigslist and then here so they were advertised locally first for what that's worth.
While yet to be seen, I don't doubt his ability to fab up brackets to put a rear in a 3rd gen. , but am left scratching my head a bit as to where all these car 12 bolts chevrolet posi rears with correct width and bolt pattern to be modified can be found. Heck, a 12 bolt posi for a chevelle/nova/camaro unmodified will sell for $500 +
Not flaming the guy, not saying he can't do it, just saying I'm paitently waiting to see it as I think everyone else should.

i asked the samething and was told that where he lives 12bolt core's are plentifull. as far as the brackets go i could build the jig; i just dont trust my welding ability......BTW irocwithdirt, you would'nt happen to be a dirt jockey by trade would you?
He hasn't answered any of my questions, nor many of your guys questions either. I can't see getting these done for that cheap anyway....doesn't seem feasable after getting a good rear end....getting metal....all the labor..etc. I don't think this is going to happen and personal started exploring other ideas....I had money waiting for him...and our first race locally is this weekend (looks like i am not going)......I was really hoping that he'd come through....what's that old saying....'if it's too good to be true, it probably is!" I hope he does pull through, but chances seem slim.

also didn't he say in one of his post that he had one on his car that was already done......can't he takes pics of that for us all to see...plus i'd build one for myself first anyway....then make more to sell if it was me...just a thought......
Biggest obstacle I saw here was width cores, or just core supply.
In my research, cheapest way to put a solid rear under on of there cars is to buy a 9" housing/axle package from Quickperformance setup for GM brakes with moser axles (think it was about $900 shipped), find a 9" center section and put it together yourself. My buddy was going to give me a posi center section with 3:89 gears. Figured I'd have about a grand in a bolt in correct width 9" rear.
I understand that.....but people are standing by at least he could drop a quick line saying he's been busy...or something....but no word....a lot of people were excited about this....

not to trash talk the guy but he was suppose to buy a rotating assembly from me a while back. Asked all kinds of questions had me get pictures, said he sent payment then fell off the face of the earth. I would be very hesitant to deal with this guy through money orders and alike between that experience and what's been put in this thread.
Thats too bad. I live in Illinois. The guy posted an ad on craigslists about a month ago and I wrote down his email so that when I came to this phase of my project but ...oh well.
wow, thanks for all the replies, all I can ask is for patience , I promise I will have pics up in a few days here. Thanks again to everyone.
I have an 89 IROC with the 9 bolt made by Holden, can't find parts. All of the alternatives have been $2000 to $3000. Will your rear end handle the original 89 disk brakes?
