Used South Side Machine Lift Bars

After 25 years I cut these Lift Bars out to go back to a torque arm suspension. I’d hate to see them go to scrap. Will trade them for some IPA

Serious question: how did the car handle corners with this setup? I know it’s more for straight-line traction, but if they bite without completely ruining the car’s ability to corner I might be interested.

Re: Used South Side Machine Lift Bars

I really don’t remember what it was like before them. I hope to try the new setup tomorrow. The sway bar is removed to make it fit but then the rear acts as a sway bar and is very very flat until it gets loose. I don’t like them for two reasons. First is my mistake, I gave it a little too much pinion angle and it had a drone when cruising. Second is the exhaust always, no matter what I did, hit the cross member. I can say it was better than stock and planted the tires well. I thought about fixing my problems and decided I only about 400 hp so it was overkill and this torque arm is adjustable in case I change the ride height.

Re: Used South Side Machine Lift Bars

I was hoping for someone local to drop a 6 when they take them away. I have no interest in shipping something I’m looking to give away. No disrespect to who ever thinks they want them but these require a fairly high level of talent to install correctly. I didn’t get it perfect and it’s not adjustable. I’m happy with my decision to spend $1k for all the UMI parts I got. These lift bars are great for someone with more power than me and has a track or something they can go to. They don’t suck but the ride is harsh. In case you didn’t know, the roads on Long Island suck and we need a track.
