383 stroker
Hey guys. I was talking to a fellow 3rd genner at the track yesturday, and he is building a 427 smallblock for his gta. He is selling the 383 shortblock next summer for $1500. It is all forged, with less than 10,000milis on it. Is this a good price for the used shortblock? He said he has $2500 in it. I will probibly buy it if I have the money at the time.
And one last question: How much would I expect to get from my stock sortblock?

I'd say that's a pretty good deal. The all forged internals probably ran him close to $1500 alone (maybe $1200 if it's the Eagle kit). I'd just find someone who you trust and who knows their stuff to check over the motor before you buy it. Let us know how it goes and what heads/cam are in it so we can help you get that thing to it's potential along with the Suprerram you already have.

It doesn't come with the heads or cam, just the block and rotating assy. I will use everything from my current setup, unless I have cam clearance problems. I will probibly switch to afr 190's down the line, get bigger injectors, functional ram air hood, do some prom burning, and slap a lt1 intake ontop. Hopefully, with that, and the 6 speed swap I plan on doing, I'll be able to get some high-mid 11's. And since it's all forged, I wouldn't worry about putting a 100-150shot on it to achieve some 10's:rockon:
