LT1 questions
I have been offered to trade my 2004 ZX636 motorcycle for a Trans Am (forth generation) with an LT1 350 crate engine installed. This engine has had approx. 30K miles place on it since the switch out. The question I had is what type of performance should I expect from a LT1 engine. I am just looking for something that is fun to drive for a little while, but I still want it to be able to move when I want it to.
Thank you
Thank you

Re: LT1 questions
stock 275 to the rear wheels some people say 285. 330 t stock. if the car is matained right and still has pep you should feel it anyways by like tapping the peddal. but you should feel all the power if you get into it when it reaches 5 grand, you should not be disappointed espcially if you've riden in or driven alot of 3rd gens and still get 17 city 27 highway mpg. Stock LT1's out proform the TPI & Ford's 4.6, but that's not hard

Re: LT1 questions
Depending on the year, it could be 275hp (single cat exhaust), 285hp (dual cat exhaust), or 305hp (if its got the Ram Air hood). Thats rated hp, I don't know what RWHP would be for an LT1 car. Probably not 275 rwhp in stock form though. The LT1 cars are pretty good performers in stock form, usually low 14s or even high 13s with the 6-spd trans with a decent driver.
I have a '97 Z28 with the 285hp, 6-spd, 3.42 posi as my daily driver, and I really like it. Sounds nice (changed to LS1 SS catback though), has GOBS of torque in the low/mid range RPMs and has lots of power when you put your foot in it. Gas mileage is actually very decent around town if you keep your foot out of it, and it gets over 30mpg in 6th gear on the highway.
Just my .02
