91 gauge cluster on an 87 harness
I swapped an 87 305 tpi and all of the 87 wiring (motor and dash) into my 91 RS it was originally a 6 cylinder car. My question is how can i run my speedometer now? I put the vss from the v6 trans on my v8 trans however I dont know were to run the vss wires to now. Does anybody know how to do this?

Re: 91 gauge cluster on an 87 harness
Ok I did the search and I am still not sure what works many people seemed to have ideas that seemed to work on paper however no one checked back in to post results so what I need to know is what has been tried and works?
there is the dakota digital box however I would rather not spend the $70+ if it can be done another way
there is the option of grounding one vss wire and running the other into the red speedo wire in the cluster harness makes sence since the vss outputs a 4000 pulse signal and the speedo needs the same can anyone verify this works?
and there is putting in a 90-92 tbi vss buffer box whitch should split the signals from the vss to the ecm, speedo, and cruise does this work?
Also my othr question is does the 87 TPI ecm need a vss signal to run the motor well? If so does it take a 2000 pulse signal like the 90-92 tbi ecm?
