Easier? Put whatever was there before, back.

Better? That depends on how you measure "good".

You didn't ask; but cheeeeper? That depends on how much of whichever you already have, and how much of the other you have to buy.

Re: 1990 camaro carb or injection?

To keep the TBI system you'll need to install a knock sensor for a 350 motor and install a ECXM prom from a 350 car (like a Caprice).

To go carbed is going to depend on your local emissions laws, since no aftermarket carb is emissions compliant (no inspection = no registration = no driving). But to go carbed, there's a sticky in the carb forum with all the details - basically you need a carb intake, a carb, and a vacuum advanced distributor. If using the TH350, no need for a TC lockup method or TV cable geometry corrector. If using the stock in-tank fuel pump you'll need a return-style fuel pressure regulator like the Mallory 4309, if not using in-tank pump you'll have to remove the in-tank pump and install a carb fuel pickup line then use a mechanical pump on the block or an external electrical pump.

Re: 1990 camaro carb or injection?

Its more of a case of "legal" and "not legal". Any carbed engine in a 90s camaro is not legal. And it doesnt matter if you have emissions testing in your area, its still a federal law. It just may not be ENFORCED in your area, but the law is still there. With that being said, making the tbi work with a 350 will require a new throttle body and some ecm tuning to get any sort of power. The 305's tbi barely has enough juice to feed the 305, not nearly enough for a 350. Going carb is pretty simple and thats the route I took when I ditched my 305 for my stroked 350. (again, not legal, but it pays to know the right people, so i pass my emissions testing without hassle). the other option you have if you want to keep fuel injection, is buy a complete tpi setup (intake, plenum, runners, injectors, wiring harness, ect) from somone on here. it will all bolt right up and the wiring and computer will just replace the stuff already in the car.
