No fuel after swap
I just got done swapping a 383 into my 82z. I removed the passenger side engine harness when I did the swap (it was a crossfire car and the harness was a mess). The car was converted to carb before I bought it but the fuel pump was still energized by the old ECM. The in tank fuel pump (it's a delphi FE0115) was replaced when the PO swapped to carb.
Since I no longer have the ECM the pump doesn't work. The fuel pump relay doesn't have anything plugged into it anymore as that harness is gone. Where does the harness for the pump enter the car and what wire would I need to splice into to get power to the fuel pump?
Do I need to buy a generic FP relay?
I got the engine to run by manually filling the carb fuel bowls so the rest of the wiring is good.
Appreciate any help. Thanks!

If you put the back seats down and pull the carpet up, you'll see the wires running outside the car. These are the wires for the fuel pump, and the fuel level sending unit. I forget which wire is for the pump, but its one of them. You can the get a relay and a universal fuse holder and tie into this wire if you want.

Re: No fuel after swap
I pulled up the carpet with the back seats down and didn't see the wire bundle yet. I am gonna drive up to summit and grab their universal fuel pump relay kit. It would be nice if I could find the +12v wire to the FP somewhere close to the engine bay (like within 5 feet or so) so I don't have to run a wire from front to back of the car.

Re: No fuel after swap
Should have been an oil pressure sensing unit just above the oil filter on the original motor, would have had 2 wires to it, orange and red - that was an alternative fuel pump circuit. You can see it here in the wiring diag: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/mkport...ine_wiring.gif
See if you can locate those wires - they should have come out of the driver side harness - they would have split out of the loom that ran behind the engine (over the tranny top) just on driver side of the tranny, and they went to that oil pressure unit just above the oil filter. That is a always hot conection directly from the battery - you could run a relay with those wires, and a hot-in-run to activate the relay, so the pump only comes on when relay is activated with key on.

Re: No fuel after swap
Thanks for the help Camaronewbie! I appreciate it. I am still wiring everything up and hope to have it working this evening. I got the fuel pump relay kit from Summit. I went ahead and drilled a hole in the grommet at the back of the car and ran another feed for the pump through that. I spliced into the FP at the back by the driver's exhaust tip.

Re: No fuel after swap
It worked perfect! thanks again. I got to hear the 383 run for the first time so it was nice. It ran for about 30-40 seconds.
The relay I installed is by the brake booster.
I am hoping to get somewhere around 450hp
