Sensors
Ok, so the new crate engine is in the car. (350/290hp that I probably shouldn't have bought.) My buddy shares with me that crappy "Chevy Shop" here in Las Vegas that did the rebuild 13,000 miles ago had the sensor for the fans connected to the knock sensor. I'm so disgusted that I paid for the rebuild. I was a kid back when I had it done 8+ years ago and trusted them to do it right. I worked a 3rd job to pay for the rebuild that cost $2800. My buddy showed me that two of the rocker arms weren't even attached, that the head bolts were loose, the intake was JB welded on, that they reused my gaskets, and that bolts holding the exhaust on were missing and/or broken. Is it any wonder that the car over-heated all the time after driving for more than 5-10 miles? Anyone know what the l98 block is worth? Also, how many sensors should there be on this engine? I ask because there is one on the passenger side by the firewall that wasn't connected to anything. Thanks for any help you can give.

Re: Sensors
Here is a link for a scanned version of the factory service manual. It's been really useful to me with my swap. Look in the emissions and driveability section (I think) and you'll find a couple pages that show the locations of all the sensors, as well as where they connect to the ECM.
*edit. looks like you have to be registered on that site too.

Re: Sensors
First find new shop, second call lawyer, 3rd post pics of the pieces in question
If the shop that did the ovarhaul did such obvious things as you say, then the engine cant be trusted and needs to come back out and gone through again
