406 superram
I'm thinking of buildina a 406 sb for my car. I want to keep a roller cam. Would you guys recomend that or a supercharged 355? Which would be cheaper to build? Which would offer more power? Does a 406 weigh any more that a 355? How much weight does a supercharger add? Which one would have better gas mileage?

I have see an naturally aspirated 406 make 600 on pump gas!. Sure it can be done. I will say you will run 94 octane and it will idle a bit rough but you can do it. I would do that because a naturally aspirated motor in my eyes is better.

I would think it would they would be high 11's though. I think you should get a 4:10 though. The t-5 has a 2.95 first gear and the t-56 has a 2.66. You will have to make up for that difference in your gearing to get a good launch. Also licks would be required but I think it could do it. How mush does your car weigh by the way. That also has to do with it. I went to a 1/4 calc..and your setup is an 11.7(how those work I don't know)

well, my car weighes a little more than stock, but a plan on removing the back seets, getting a fiberglass hood, lightwieght wheels, and dropping all the weight i can. With slicks, i don't see tracktion being a big problem, because the rear suspension is all rebuilt. can you give me the link to that 1/4 calc. i want to hit mid 10's with nitrous.
