Need exhaust advice
I've got a 91 305 RS, all stock. I need some advice on what to choose for my exhaust system. I want to put on a cherry bomb vortex muffler for sure, but I don't know what to do for the rest of the system. I'm thinking a 3" cat-back magnaflow? (Heard it has a nice sound) I will eventually be putting headers on, and possibly a 350 drop. Any advice for a good cat-back system to work with the cherry bomb is welcome.

Re: Need exhaust advice
i dont really know much about cherry bombs but i belive there just a regular muffler like a magnaflows. so if you really want a cherry bomb you will need to either find someone selling it in a 3in kit or make up the rest of your own exhuast. but i belive they are farily restrictive and if you want a very good flowing and nice sounding exhuast just go with the magnaflow. you can even get it for just 320 at bandit exhuast. good luck

Re: Need exhaust advice
Well, I just figured I would get a magnaflow/flowmasters or something exhaust kit, use all the piping, and then just put on a cherry-bomb muffler. Do you think it would be that much more restrictive?

Re: Need exhaust advice
Do you want a Cherry Bomb for the sound and/or loudness? Cuz if you want a loud and really good sounding 305, get the SLP LM1. It's what I have. It's very throaty and not raspy at all on these motors. It's like having no muffler at all and it's VERY free flowing.

Re: Need exhaust advice
look up on summit and you can buy the intermediate pipe and over axle pipe in 3" mandrel bent pipe shipped to you for like 180... drop your own muffler in and buy two 90 pipes out the back or reuse your current tips... all done for about what 250 at most if you already have the muffler,... I'm running a modded ypipe 3" hiflow cat 3" mandrel from summit back to a cherry bomb and dual 3" mandrel bent tips out to 3.5" slant cut chrome tips.... got mine all for bout 200
It's being installed this weekend... i'll post some pics when i'm done...
(had the muffler already and tips)
