Dons headers

I have a question we are installing the L98 back in the 89 Iroc and we need to know if there is a problem installing the Dons headers after the engine is in and the engine has AFR heads

Re: Dons headers

It's MUCH easier to install headers - ANY headers - with the engine out. Lay em in the engine compartment as you lower the motor, leave em loose from each other and the rest of the exhaust, and bolt em up to the heads, before securing the motor to the mounts.

Can be done afterwards, but is MUCH easier this way.

Don't think AFR heads has anything to do with it one way or the other.

Re: Dons headers

Ive had my motor out numerous times and have never had a problem laying them in afterwards. Just pull the plugs and they'll slide right in. I have a custom steering shaft so it helps with clearance on the driver side.
Wrap them in saran a wrap if you are concerned of scratching the ceramic coating.

You wont have an issue installing them after.
