FS: HMS Strut Mounts
I have some Hunter Motorsports aluminum strut mounts (from Karl's production run back in 2001) that I'm looking to get out of my closet.
These are medium height mounts, not anodized, and have never been installed or used (wrecked car beforehand). I am no spherical bearing expert so I don't know what condition they are in after sitting this long (7 years) without ever being used. I do know the spherical bearing is replaceable, but it is an interfearance fit, so it would have to be pressed out and then pressed back in. The bearing is also retained by a tight tolerance snap ring so that could be another cost if it needs replacing.
There are nicks around the top edge of the towers but they came that way straight from HMS. My plan was to lightly smooth the edges of the towers and polish, but never got around to it. Pictures can be provided.
My preference is to sell locally. I can personally deliver anywhere in the Houston area or, if you don't need these immediately, anywhere close to Interstate 10 between Houston and Lafayette, Louisiana. I make frequent enough trips.
I've been out of the the thirdgen scene for a while now so I don't know what the going rate of aluminum strut mounts or who still makes these so I'm asking $200. If this is not a reasonable price on these, please let me know as I'm not looking to steal anyone's money.
Anyone interested can email me at soulbounder@yahoo.com or call me at 713-359-7794. You can also post here or PM me but my response will be slower.
DF
Update: The bearings seem fine to me. There is no binding or rough spots that I can feel.
