I figured they would've been at least comparably priced to previous versions. These things are going to drive up the price of good used belltech originals.

yeah i would be buying them if i had the money. I think that is a issue for some or alot. we planned or atleast i did for the beginning of the year when i posted i was in again sometime last year when belltech was still in the picture. I still plan on buying just have to wait 2 months for the money.

That is where I am at. The price is higher than expected, and this took so long, that I spent money on other things, and honestly have to save up some coin again, before buying a set of these.

yeah i know how the group purchases go i've organized several since i've been a member. Thankfully most places honored the GP price even though probably half of the people dropped out. What got me is that somewhere along the line they said they would be competitivly priced compared to the belltech's. Also, unless i interpreted it wrong these dont hold stock brakes only the 1LE's and they can be drilled and tapped for the conversion brakes. Plus having to pay for a steering adapter to work with a stock car. That's a killer for me as i can't afford the brake kit yet, the car has other priorities before a brake upgrade.

i jumped into the maybe field oh so long ago, but am still interested. since then i have bought a newer yukon, chucked the posi in it, replaced the entire rear end (because it was cheaper to do that than to put a new posi in it ????????), and put a new motor in one of my cars, and paid to rebuild some of the A/C components in the ol' lady's truck.....etc
So, today I am broke.....tomorrow is a diff story tho. Maybe i missed it, but I would like to see a pic of what this is gonna look like in it's finished form. I saw some schematic type drawings, but does someone have a prototype pic?

It sounds like the GP is a wash = more $. AJE is still waiting for some laser cut parts to be in, so it should be another few weeks before they can even start making them.

dropped spindles
I'd like to get in on the dropped spindles. Has anyone talked with the manufacturer? Am I correct as these will accept stock brakes and Is there anyone in particular I should talk to at AJE? 1-800-877-7233

I know you are talking about the stock brakes. It looks like this is the answer.
These things are win win for everyone!! Stock brakes, 1LE brakes, gear box steering, rack and pinion steering, and a lowered stance. Can't beat that!!

well that killed that if you read that and look at the picture of the spindle there's no way it will accept stock calipers. those small factory holes are for the dust shield. that's what you drill and tap for the big brake set-ups. believe me i wanted these more than anyone but i don't have $1000 laying around to buy brakes and spindles.

I was on the list, and have not paid for mine yet. Timing was an issue for me. I still want them, and plan to get them. I just had some unexpected bills come up and issues with my daily driver, so all that kind of killed my slush fund. I will get some, I just don't know how soon.

That's my beef.
I can't say enough congrats towards cocacolakidd on getting this thing finished/finalized. It's seriously one of the only GPs I've seen go through but I'm severly dissatisfied with the final product. The thirdgen community is not one to go through with high dollar purchases. IMHO

Hello All,
It's been awhile since I have posted here - I've been out of town working, and still am, just back for the next two days.
Note one: The spindles will take all of the different brake options that we are now using. Whether they be stock/OEM GM type, or 1LE, or the LS1/C5/C6. The only difference is the caliper bracket that one uses.
Note two: Some are saying that these Dropped Spindles are way over priced. Well if you consider that these are the only dropped spindles to be found for the third gen, and that they are custom made, I do not consider that to bad. Also compare all of the other Bell Tech dropped spindle prices out there for other cars, and they range from a low of $299.00, and up to $459.00 for some of the more exotic ones. The price on ours at $330.00 (With factory steering) is closer to the bottom/least expensive side of the scale. No one cannot get any spindles any more for the price of $259.95 - that is three year old history.

Hello everyone,
I have just find this thread after spending a lot of time trying to find any dropped spindles for my third gen. You can count me in to that list of possible buyers.
Do we know any timeline for purchasing the spindles from the manufacturer and when do they need the payment? Do anyone know their shipping policy to foreign countries like Finland in the northern Europe? ~Pepe

So far Anthony says he has 5 orders. We have tried to pm all on the list, and most say they are going to as soon as they can aford them. I just hope that we can get more than the 5, which includes me. I plan on getting them whether there is five or 50 - Cannot find them any other place.

I already ordered mine. I wouldn't mind seeing if I could still get a GP price with the rest of you, but I just don't see the 30 required orders, and I can't wait around any longer.

Dropped Spindles
We only have 5 on order at this time! We also have the pieces to build the spindles. I will honor the price if ordered before 7-14-06. After 7-14-06 they will be $449.00 for the base spindles. On 7-17-06 production will begin! We have been building our own dropped spindled struts for the third gens for 5 years and have shipped all over the world. We have drag cars running over 200MPH, daily street cars, and road race cars using our struts. Thanks!

479.00 for a set of drop spindles that are set up for the factory steering system.
My little girl has been in the hospital sense the end of january...
I log on and the gp is over and the spindles are almost $500.00

Hello All,
I just received a pair of Dropped Spindles (Powder Coated Red - ordered that way), with the adaptors for standard steering. Wow do they look good - Thanks to AJE Racing.
I was able to get them at the discounted Group rate also thanks to AJE -
This is the first pair of Dropped Spindles I have had in my hands since starting to look for them back in 2003.
I will start to take pictures of them, and the install, and keep all who want to know informed to progress, and roadworthyness. I do allot of road racing, and racing on this old track here will be the greatest test for them (Pot holes, rocks, bumps, dips, and huge cracks on the old local road track at 150mph around the curves will be a great test).
Have pfunn everyone - Ed.

Any updates on these spindles? Are they still available? I think they will bring back my original steering radius before swapping in a rack and pinion. What is the final price on a set-I want in ASAP!
Cocacolakidd-please PM me, I have a few questions. I am very serious and ready
to order a set if they will work in my application.

Hello,
sorry for not replying sooner - out on vacation -
Our set of the dropped spindles to include the adaptor for factory steering was $330.00.
Contact The New AJE Racing.com - K-members, coil overs, brakes
aje@gte.net
Anthony Jones at 1-800-877-7233
Right now as of this time AJE is doing a revision to the spindles to make them even better - so far so good.
Thanks every one, Ed.

I must have lost it somewhere in this topic, where does it say how much drop this gives me? I just placed in brand new eibach sportlines all the way around, how will this look with a spindle drop?

the drop on the Spindles are 1.8"
Do you mean Eibach Sportlines dropped springs? Well the rear will be down by the amount of the Eibach Springs, and they are 1.75 drop I think (correct me if I'm wrong). In the front with dropped springs, and dropped spindles it will definatly look slammed. It would be right down there far enough to roll a beer can with the front bumper, will also be able to sweep up loose change from the parking lot with the air dam. Probably not recommended to use both in front to drop the car - as any speed bump will send you around the block looking for another entry way. There again some like it that way.

Well my dilema is all the weight I am losing off my front end, since the sportline install, I have not even had an engine in the car, nor has the car even sat under its own weight (on stands at the moment). I have no smog equipment, Aluminum heads, no air conditioning, fiberglass hood, and tubular k member / a arms, So The sportlines may not even drop the car much more over stock. What is your professional opinion?
I can say before I pulled the engine and had the steel hood, stock k member / a arms and stock springs, my front end had about 3" of fender gap

Hey Ed, what do you mean they are doing a revision to the spindles?
TraviZ: I'd get the spindles, and then buy stock springs and cut them if the Sportlines end up making the car sit too low.
